Really great film. Not a follower of F1 but i truly appreciated this film and the amazing driving depicted. Its painfully clear the heart and passion the man had for the sport. For thse interested in the bluray i got the triple play version in morrisons for 15 quid. The Blu version is an hour longer due to exclusive interviews.
Why they couldnt have just made it same running time for the dvd one too i dont know but never mind! Haha.

Not altogether surprised that a person who admits to NOT being a follower of F1 liking the film. Why they couldnt have just made it same running time for the dvd one too i dont know but never mind! Haha.
I enjoyed it, but it was inomplete in many ways and as a result failed to portray the true story of the era in which he raced.
There were moments of true revelation in the film - but it is flawd all the same (in my opinion, of course).
Many film critics liked the film - but nearly all of the critics prefaced their reviews with comments such as "I have no interest in Formula 1" or "I don't particularly like motor racing".
This meant that they saw the film with virtually no knowledge of the man or the era in which he raced.
So, they reviewed a documentary without knowing many of the background facts of the events it was covering. In other words, they couldn't comment on its accuracy, only its filmic and emotional qwalities.

Although quite a few people involved in F1 at the time actually have stated that the documentary is actually quite an accurate portrayal of some peoples behaviour. This meant that they saw the film with virtually no knowledge of the man or the era in which he raced.

I watched the extended version last night - i saw the original release at the cinema.
The new one doesnt flow quite so well as its punctuated by the talking head interviews - but they really do make it, the Ron Dennis interviews expecially I felt.
Is the extended version included on all the Bluray versions, of which there seem to be many...?The new one doesnt flow quite so well as its punctuated by the talking head interviews - but they really do make it, the Ron Dennis interviews expecially I felt.

Apex, The box in front of me says English Subtitles.
I have the Triple play DVD (picture on front cover) which says it has the extended version, however I did see the plain yellow cover version for a couple of pounds more. Can anyone tell me what this version had over the one I have?
I'm not 100% - but i think the plain yellow one has the "making of" production notes booklet thing - and the triple play with the picture on the front doesnt. I'd bet the contents of the disks is identical.
