Bugger.

What with this, Firefly, Enterprise and Farscape (fan pressure notwithstanding), are we really that dull an audience that we need to be spoonfed "safe" stuff like True Blood and CSI?

Are distributors really that fixated on numbers rather than content?

B5 too, now I think about it - notified for cancellation pre S4, Strazynski goes nuts tying up the loose ends, then later told it's back on, thus S5 is a load of filler nonsense.

Apologies, Enterprise lasted longer than I remembered. Glad I prompted some discussion, though.

Terminator:Sarah Connor Chronicles was looking promising, too.

B5 was always scheduled for 5 seasons, I thought S5 was quite good - recently watched all 5 seasons, the occasional filler episode, but overall its still excellent viewing.

It was the spin off series around the rangers that got cancelled.

First season of SGU was quite good, but as of 4 episodes into season 2 I'm finding it difficult to watch - its mind-numbingly boring.
I was a bit unclear - the story was scheduled for 5 seasons, yes. But PTEN was due to go under as season 4 started and Warner wouldn't give JMS a straight answer about its future. So he tied up a lot of stuff "early", in season 4. The actual final episode was shot as the finale to season 4, but when TNT picked it up, guaranteeing a fifth season, they shifted it to the original, intended total finale and shot a new one for s4.

And tonight marked the last episode.

I won't spoil anything, other than to say it's one of the best endings to a prematurely cancelled show I've seen.

Good!
How many have we got let in the UK?
No idea - there are 20 eps in S2 in total.

I've always moaned about people not following through with a show, but I think I gave up with SGU around 5 episodes into season 2. Is it worth persevering - do they close it off quite well?
I think so. The drones developed into quite a good storyline. The ending, while obviously the result of cancellation, was nicely done imo.

Actually that is incorrect - the ending was filmed long before the show was cancelled and was never intended to be the show's end - however, there must have been some thought that it could be the end (as these things tend to be fairly uncertain nowadays) so it served well enough.

The film was to be SG1/A/U so, whilst I won't say any more, would have most certainly figured in the "years" between S2 and S3.
I stand corrected. And surprised, as it happens.
