The CDC has conceded it is airborne. This follows a few articles over the last month in the likes of the Lancet that claimed it was.

If this is the main means of transmission doesn't this call into question many aspects of the rules designed to constrain it?. Masks for example won't be doing much at all. As for distance, well what matters there is likely to be the ventilation of the space you are in with an infectious person, not distance alone.
I guess this is what some of the MIT modelling was about? Their conclusions were that it didn't matter if you were 6ft o 60ft, wearing a mask or not wearing a mask. If you are going to be stuck in a room with someone with it, its going to circulate (air currents, brownian motion etc) and you are going to breath it in. https://www.biospace.com/article/cdc-s-updated-gui...

Considering how many of the COVID IS AIRBORNE!"!"!"! lot are massive mask enthusiasts - especially Greenhalgh - I'm surprised this contradiction hasn't occurred to them yet.

Talk on here of an almost certain ‘autumn lockdown’ surely any lockdown/restrictions just makes a mockery of everything we have endured the last 18months and renders Max vaccination somewhat pointless.
You’ve made the mistake of expecting the UK govt covid strategy to make any kind of sense. If they (either the dumb masses, or the tyrannical Johnson administration) want autumn lockdown, we will have autumn lockdown.
And indeed all of the people in the at risk groups who have had the vaccine and want to get on with their lives?
If we are in lockdown in Autumn that will be it. We will know for certain this isn't about a virus.
Do you find it strange that there was/is no meaningful resistance to the whole affair of restrictions? No significant pushback.
I've seen my left leaning friends post their anti-tory stuff on social media recently (I'm not a tory supporter myself now after this) but at the same time gladly virtue signal their mask wearing and vaccination status. They don't trust the government on anything except the response to Covid which invoked the greatest attack on out freedoms since, well I don't know, Cromwell?
I see Andy Burnham is looking for all over 16's to be vaccinated over fears of the Indian variant.

From the article:
The bus is currently based at Essa Academy where students have agreed to continue to wear face coverings when the rules relax on Monday.
Jeez, why would anyone want to continue wearing a mask past the mandate period?
And I stick by my thoughts on the vaccine. If the vulnerable have it, the non vulnerable don't.

Though if you read the bottom of your link, they also released a report suggesting double masking or N95 masking as it improves protection against droplets. But if its airborne, surely the non-sealing type masks are not going to cut it (which is what we've been saying for the past year, because how else can it still spread like wild fire despite mask mandates) and you need to have something proper if staying in enclosed spaces with people.
Not that it matters too much here right now, with something like 1 in 5000 people having an active case.

There have been scientific studies for a while now claiming it is airborne, but the CDC have to be dragged into conceding it. As I said it calls into question many of the proscribed policies of the pandemic pantomime. Primarily masks and the proscribed distance to remain apart. So they concede it is airborne and then double down (if you will permit the pun) on mask wearing.

And God knows what it's got to do with the UK.
More than anything I was shamelessly using the opportunity to make what I thought was a good gag, but perhaps it was too good without an accompanying smiley
As for what it has to do with the UK, who cares? Do we only discuss the UK now? For "we", read "humanity".

Conclusion: locked down too late and not hard enough. Must not make that mistake again. It will be a whitewash, they are already rewriting history as every day passes, and people have begun to actually believe that lockdowns, masks and social distancing defeat viruses (until the vaccine is here of course). They can rinse and repeat this for anything now.

In this case it would appear that Facebook and the other companies control what is or isn’t allowed to be said
On the BBC 6.00 news last night it mentioned that Facebook was deleting any anti-vaccination posts whether they were factual or not. Then went into some report about that builder bloke and some other tt who talked about falling down a rabbit hole narrated by that disinformation reporter woman.
- government are using it as an opportunity to push through policies they never would have gotten away with under normal circumstances (certainly not as quickly).
- people are scared crapless but have lost concept of what the actual risk is. I've seen a mum let go of their pram with it rolling towards traffic at a set of lights to adjust their mask. I mean wtf?
- people seem to want the government to protect them from what is basically a bad version of flu/influenza
- the response to it by government has been dramatic and incommensurate with the risk posed.
- the way it seems vaccine passports were on the table as early as April/May 2020 where we were told it was only 3 weeks to flatten the curve
That's not the same as hunting down people with vaccine hesitancy (many of who may have been right - see deaths from AZ) to coerce them into getting the vaccine.
Would they be opening themselve up to criminal (haha yes right) or civil proceedings if the person they "converted" died of the vaccine (rare, but clearly not underheard of)?

NHS app ready to become vaccine passport next week https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-57070185
I thought this would be the outcome when one of my customers was using this as a route to access to site a couple of months ago. Go and take an LFT test and upload to the NHS app to prove your status to access plant.
We are being shoehorned into the £100bn moonshot project. How can anyone think this is a sensible spend?
