They weren't just given it, they asked for it, as sound-of-mind people (of the same species). What's so unreasonable about expecting those who choose - at their own free will - to take on obligations to bear their share of the associated responsibility? You think they'll learn from their mistakes that way? How is it fair to place all of the blame on one group when everyone else involved also contributed to the disaster? You also seem to be trying to make out that banks either purposefully tried to sabotage their businesses or didn't care what happened - why would they do that?

Im a little more reasonable, if you exchange the peanut for a shiny LCD TV, I can also take that in payment.
