Derek/Eric, same difference. I've usually lumped the pair together over the years.

Ribena, I asked a while back what you had meant when you said ‘I am over the moon with the way things are going’. Specifically were you saying are you ‘over the moon’ with the way the Trump presidency is going?
Yep.
Astonishing, and all we need to know, I think.

A monumentally stupid statement from Trump. He needs to get over himself. I appreciate he is pissed off with the amount of time mainstream media have dedicated to assassinating his character at times telling outright lies and at other times pointing out his BS but unfortunately thats the price of free press which is a cornerstone of democracy whether we like it or not.
Maybe if he stopped telling lies and talking pure , unadulterated BS, the media will stop pointing it out (damn their pesky hides )

Appreciating the amount he is upset without looking as to why? He cannot control the press, that is his problem. That is also scary.

All politicians spin, all news orgs, papers etc. have a slant, some more than others. The press do not need to dedicate time to him, he does it himself, he had an option to court the press before he got to power and soon after, he did not.

He went full bore Trump I know best and poked the whole press corp in the eye. Apart from the ones that were already pro trump, there was no charm offensive to win anyone over. With Bannon riding on his coat tails to the court, you do not have to look far as to why.

Another "advisor" that has been out the press eye for sometime is prone to going on web sites where main stream media is seen as part of the system of control.

He thought he was coming in to show the world his business prowess, guess he found out politics is not the breeze he thought it was and fortunately we can look on in through the press in this part of the world. He might not like it.

The whole thing is teetering on the edge.

Serious hurricane issues
Possible war with N Korea
Massive destruction with wild fires in California

All things the executive needs to be on the ball with.

Trump though is embroiled in a war against the 1st amendment and the press, against many in his own party and against sportsmen.

"preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States." hmm...

AAAAAnway ladies and gents..

Much as I am enjoying trying to engage in discussion with all of you, given that previously I was sin binned for politely not agreeing with everybody in a thread I am going to walk away from this thread for now as I don't particularly want the mods to sin bin me again for being offensive for not towing the PH PC line.
AAAAnd it's paranoia time again!

People get sin-binned for trolling, offensive remarks, and personal attacks, not for "not towing (sic) the PH PC line".

At the time of the events I knew the same if not more than most as I had been monitoring all the various differing media sharing platforms and it was very clear the Nazi wannabes were put under sustained attack by the violent "left" antifa etc and they responded and defended themselves albeit there were two nazi members who I felt were antagonising and launching attacks on antifa.

As to David Duke tweeting Trump do what?? People tweet him all the time. Do you think he never reads his tweets? No doubt he saw the tweet from David duke and like many sane humans agreed with it and used it as part of his speech and fyi he and others making similar statements were proven way to correct in the following days/weeks.
Still ignoring all the other incidents I quickly came up with on Trump being a racist? Including the two times he was found guilty of it in a court?
Those Donald Blinkers are working well.

1318 false or misleading claims in his first 263 days in office perhaps?

The birther nonsense seemed to be fairly clearly based in racism. So he's either racist or happy to encourage racists, which amounts to the same thing.

Much as I would like to see Trump out of office, and preferably behind bars, there is a very, very fine line to be walked to achieve that which doesn't, at the same time, provoke an armed uprising and cries of "treason" and "coup" (ok, the rednecks don't do fancy words like that, but you get the gist) which would have the potential (at the worst) to spiral badly out of control and at best to leave a scar lasting a generation.

As I have said from the outset, the Republicans will ditch him the moment they think he is damaging their voter base. Trouble is right now he's got the more conservative and arguably more populous part of their voter base in his pocket.

Yep, from that transcript, which of course may or may not be fake nooz, but to entertain it at face value for now, what I took from it wasn't the 25th chatter but the notion everyone thinks he's nuts & he's operating alone. A prez in a vacuum is bigly bad.

I see his 'state visit' has been downgraded and he will not be meeting the Queen after all.
Has this ever happened to a President before?
I wonder how he'll spin this one - twitter rant? Does the Queen follow twitter? rofl

There have certainly been Presidential visits which have not been state visits in the past.

Whether a state visit has been announced as such and subsequently downgraded, I don't know.

It hadn't been announced as a State visit though. It has been mentioned that he might well be invited for a State Visit, but that invitation had not been sent, had it?

I'm sure he will.

BTW you are still discriminating for not giving me that £85,000 a year job that I told you to give me yesterday.

Difficult to know, given I don't know on what basis I'd be discriminating. I don't really deal with recruitment at that junior level anyway.
