Oh dear... From the wording of the letter to the customers I'd hazard a guess that the hacker got the unencrypted PAN (or at the very least Sony have reasonable expectation that any encryption can br broken) Sony could be in for a bit of a butt-fking on this one I'm afraid. The card schemes have some big sticks they like to use in situations like this and given the amount of cards taken and the profile this is getting I can't see it ending well for them.
