A bit misleading if you read the article.
£1m wasn't spent on the school, this is the cost of the school in Pakistan - how much of the UK schools funds towards this school in Pakistan is not known (could be nothing, could be thousands)
To be honest, I'd be more worried about the below:
'14 members of staff were without contracts, seven were still working there even though their contracts had expired and 29 had not had Criminal Record Bureau checks'

Gove and May's SPAD Fiona Cunningham were bickering over this issue. Gove has now done an article for The Spectator about Christians being looked down upon and 'Sky Pixies'. I've yet to read it so don't know if the article is a vote chasing piece.
Can't find it on the Spectator website (assume it goes up tomorrow) but the Telegraph has some excerpts. It's all very bizarre. Telegraph said:
Christians in Britain are being cowed into hiding their faith for fear of being viewed as a “bigots” and “accessories to child abuse” or simply fools obsessed with “genuflection before a sky pixie”, according to Michael Gove.
The Coalition Chief Whip said such is the antipathy to religion that prayer is now viewed with greater suspicion than smoking crack while those who publicly profess faith are assumed to believe in “bronze age absurdities”.

In what could be one of the most frank admissions ever made by a politician during an election campaign, Mr Gove conceded: “I am selfish, lazy, greedy, hypocritical, confused, self-deceiving, impatient and weak.
“And that’s just on a good day.

He went on: “To call yourself a Christian in contemporary Britain is to invite pity, condescension or cool dismissal.
“In a culture that prizes sophistication, non-judgmentalism, irony and detachment, it is to declare yourself intolerant, naive, superstitious and backward.”
He added: “If we’re Roman Catholic we’re accessories to child abuse, if we’re Anglo-Catholics we’re homophobic bigots curiously attached to velvet and lace, if we’re liberal Anglicans we’re pointless hand-wringing conscience-hawkers, and if we’re evangelicals we’re creepy obsessives who are uncomfortable with anyone enjoying anything more louche than a slice of Battenberg.

His wife was on This Week about a month ago about her sniping newspaper column and ribbing Miliband over his two kitchens. I wonder if she wrote it?
It's Easter. Didn't wavy Dave do much the same last year, stating 'We have a Christian heritage'? Then when some Christian clergy wanted to visit his constituency office to discuss foodbanks weren't they turned away by the police?
It's Easter. There's an election in just over a month.
I mentioned there being a fifth column of NeoCon Christians within the Tory party in the PCC thread after dudleybloke's post about PCC Adam Simmonds brought him to my attention.

He's right though; in the UK politicians publicly declaring their religious beliefs(if not Muslim) are viewed with the same suspicion as politicians who do not declare in the US. Tony Blair would be a good example of how not to do it.
Tony Blair is an example of how to not do a lot of things. Breathing for starters. What a pissboiler of a thread! I notice the usual appeasement group are nowhere to be seen! Its all so typical of the nationality involved, looking out /lying to cover thier backs.! Bit harsh? Take Rotherham as an example of the depths these people will sink too.
Oh I hope that Labour get in in May, they will sort it all out.
The UKoP is completely and utterly fked. The message You are guests in this country and you HAVE to respect it, needs to be said loud and clear.Otherwise the streets will become open sewers as they are in thier home country.

I see Yasmin Alibhai-Brown on QT the other night saying religious schools should all be banned. Nearly fell out my chair at the shock of agreeing with her.
In other news, it was nice to hear the Muslim Council of Britain declare all the findings of the report as just 'conservative Islam' .

The big question is why does that racist get paid for appearing in the bbc.In other news, it was nice to hear the Muslim Council of Britain declare all the findings of the report as just 'conservative Islam' .
" I don't like white men, I want them to be a lost species in a hundred years"
Would anybody get work for the bbc is they said i don't like black men and want them to die out?
As for the Muslim council comments
That's exactly what the people of Derby said. If you recall the issues there of teachers being made to cover up, none muslims being bullied, girls at the back. When local to news interview Derby locals every single one of them said Whats the problem? That's how it should be.

Birmingham risks a repeat of the Trojan Horse scandal because of its “awful schools”, according to Ofsted boss Sir Michael Wilshaw. In his last interview before stepping down as chief inspector of schools, he also lambasted the city’s “appalling children’s services” and said Birmingham had been his biggest worry during his five years in the role.
article said:
But Sir Michael told the Sunday Times that the authority was “the equivalent of the 19th century rotten borough”.
He went on: “If the government does not act in Birmingham in terms of corporate governance, I am concerned we will see a return to Trojan Horse issues at some stage.

The Al-Hijrah School in Birmingham is in the news again.
