Sen. Mitt Romney just said, “I will not be voting for former President Trump. I must admit that I find sexual assault to be a line I will not cross in the people I select to be my president.”

@Kasparov63

Putin tried and failed to murder Navalny quickly and secretly with poison, and now he has murdered him slowly and publicly in prison. He was killed for exposing Putin and his mafia as the crooks and thieves they are. My thoughts are with the brave man's wife and children

Today would be a good day to seize $300 billion in Russian assets and give it to Ukraine.

Awaiting Trump’s reaction to Navalny’s death.

Outright condemnation of Putin’s murderous regime ?

I think not.

Comparing himself to Navalny - an innocent man who is facing prison as a consequence of the politically-driven actions of Biden and his group of thugs.

That’s my bet…
No because that would be possibly accusing Putin - he won't do that. He'll just keep quiet as he has many times before
Ah someone else did it for him, New York Republican Lee Zeldin saying that Democrats are doing to the trump what Vladimir Putin is suspected of doing to Navalny and was completely criticised for it.

Spot on.

Its actually worse than that. I really dont hold anything against the public who vote for the GOP in the vast majority of situations. Its not that they are stupid or uneducated or anything like that. Its that they have been subjected to generations of a highly targeted set of marketing messages that have been built up over time.

The GOP has done a fantastic job of building out the whole 'socialist' thing that its so ingrained it many voters opinions that its going to be hard to counter it. Again, its not the voters fault (in many cases), but when they are forced to listen to this narrative for decades and its around them 24/7 and everywhere they look, its hard to remain impartial.
I agree. I think it stems from the cold war when the dirty commie's were (apparently) a threat to every man woman and child in the country. The right has conflated communists with socialists in the minds of many, therefore they are bad.
They'd probably get away with a lot more but the current lots just can't govern and have zero shame in getting involved in the grottier side of things ref: Gaetz, Jordan and those like MTG who just want to throw their weight around rather than achieve anything.

The Supreme Court’s website now notes that next Wednesday (February 21) *could* be an opinion day.

That almost certainly means *a* decision in an argued case is coming next Wednesday. Might be the Colorado disqualification ruling or something else

Towards the end you could get a palpable sense of ''Oh f*ck what have I unleashed '' from the Judge. He should have parsed the evidence and checked it rather than order a hearing based on frivolous and immediately checkable lies. The one witness they had to verify turned out to be flighty, vague and had an axe to grind (she had nice glasses though).

As it stands the Judge has simply strengthened Fani's hand by holding this hearing.
I loved it close to end when yet another lawyer started asking the same questions and the judge said "OK Mr McDougal you can sit down now". The guy then complained that Willis hadn't answered his questions and the judge said "and now you're not listening to me so we're done". rofl

Actually when you look at what has actually been achieved under Biden he ranks pretty high.

Fani Willis's father is testifying - he lived with her until 2021 when Roman's lawyers claim she was living with Wade.

He describes some of the threats and intimidation that she suffered after getting her prosecutor job.
Roman's lawyers tried to have him disqualified, saying that her father hadn't witnessed the events... overruled.

They are presumably from the Habba school of lawyering, how can you suggest dismissing a witness because they didn't see things that they are actually describing that they saw.. https://www.rawstory.com/fani-willis-threats-26672...

Someone in trunp's team appears to have their head screwed on - he is apparently going to unveil a nationwide law on abortion (legal up to 15 weeks, exceptions for rape victims / health issues ). Trying to appeal to moderates ? Remember he has previously taken credit for the overturning of Row vs Wade... https://www.rawstory.com/trump-abortion-2667299322...

RNC seem to be slowly waking up to the fact he's going to bleed them dry but seemingly have no plan to actually do anything about it https://www.rawstory.com/trump-rnc-2667298017/

I was going on public perception / approval rating. I agree to some extent that his administration / party have not capitalised on the good stuff thats gone on.

True, but that hasn't been reflected in public perception, and certainly not to the extent that will influence swing voters.

When it comes to the election it will be case of them voting either "Trump" or "not Trump".

Not sure I agree with that, at all. Swing-voters (I'm one) tend to be a little more pragmatic and inquisitive and aware than those who are fixated with one ideology.

I agree that Democratic messaging is weak and economic messaging weakest of all (until very recently). The achievements of this administration are quite evident to those who are prepared to acknowledge them. I suspect that large numbers of swing-voters see the evidence - and may vote Republican despite it, but they will see it (and have benefitted from it).

They are basically trying to fix Willis now, asking unnecessary question about her and her family members routine, where the children live.
This is all about getting Willis familyvschedulecexposed for more threats to be possible. Judge needs to shut this down.

The lawyer for Mike Roman wants to ask a question so inflammatory, the state is objecting to it even being asked out loud. Then trump's lawyer stands up and argues that they should be able to get the question on the record

I genuinely believe history will show Biden to have been phenomenally successful as President. But that doesn't generate clicks so here we are

He's boring which is an unforgivable sin in the current media landscape, so he gets talked down.

more than $350M and a partial industry ban for three years. He got off lightly. Don and Etric can still pretend to run the business whilst trump does it in the background again.

Don Jnr and Eric found to stupid again?
