Branson: "Time to end the war on drugs"
Discussion
I'm sorry, but unless you walk into a police station with a biff hanging out your mouth, cannabis is practically de-criminalised for personal use in the UK. And drug users are everywhere. Some people hide it well, others keep it to the weekend, but there loads of people that indulge in these substances.
As for the war on drugs, the government(s) started that, by declaring a war on drugs. They could keep it up for the rest of time but they'll never win it because where there is demand, there is supply.
If you think though, 10 to 15 years ago, smoking was quite acceptable, and since then, it's become quite a frowned upon habit. Now it's not cool to smoke (although I would say of lately, lots more people are starting to smoke again from what I've seen). If the government and peer pressure can cause that for something that's easily purchasable, then surely it can be done with drugs if they were legalised. If you consider nicotine is up there with herion for it's addictiveness, it's not a hard feat surely?
