Being stuck in traffic due to a protest isn't functionally different from being stuck in traffic due to roadworks or an awkwardly broken down car. Are roadworks an act of aggression?
It's the difference between you stumbling over your own feet versus me deliberately tripping you.

A# little off topic but I probably get told off if I start a new topic and the mods will point me to a thread I can't find and close it so...

This is interesting

He hasn't been seen for a couple of days. Has anyone in Scotland spotted him glued to a road or up a bridge somewhere?

These days, changes in the law make the position on unlawful behaviour much clearer i.e. what is not a lawful protest. The Public Order Act 2023 states that you will be committing an offence when (inter alia)
-you obstruct major transport works
-your activities cause or can cause serious disruption to two or more people or to an organisation in a public place

Section 11 notes that police have powers to stop and search without suspicion if a police officer of or above the rank of inspector reasonably believes
(a)that any of the following offences may be committed in any locality within the officer’s police area
(i)an offence under section 137 of the Highways Act 1980 (wilful obstruction) involving activity which causes or is capable of causing serious disruption to two or more individuals or to an organisation

If any prohibited objects e.g. locking on devices are found in the search, an offence has been committed. This is all helpful only if police and Courts stick to the knitting.
Wolfie Smith style wifflewaffle is irrelevant either way.

One is having a really long walk as she complained that she couldn't make the next court date.
As she is going to india, i wonder how she intends to get there

The plane is going there & back anyway, as are the busses to/from the airport & the trains around India.

Based on that she is adding zero carbon footprint/oil use, etc to what was already scheduled therefore there is zero hypocrisy in her actions. You should be ashamed of yourself for not praising her actions.

Take away from the JSO morons everything that was provided by fossil fuels, and they would be standing naked in a field. So no clothes, no shoes, no ability to move anywhere, other than by walking (without shoes) no roads, buses, trains, cars, ships, planes. No heated and lit buildings to live and work in, no computers, Ipads. mobile phones. TVs, No hospitals, schools, shops, cinemas, foreign holidays, music festivals, No piped water supply, food and drink.
Only when a viable alternative, which can provide the power, food, and products, (Including renewable energy systems), currently ONLY made possible by using fossil fuels, has been discovered, and put into production, sufficient to meet the needs of the global population, Can the global population transit away from fossil fuel use.
To date NO SUCH viable alternative has yet even been discovered. let alone put into (Fossil fuel less) production, capable of meeting the needs of the global population.

But they would argue that we will never find the alternative without stopping new oil extraction.

If so they're fools, and fools with an extremist agenda. First find the alternatives. Fertilizer from oil products keeps millions fed and alive worldwide.

Did I mention finding the alternatives first, even within the nonsensical world of JSO? Then there's the point that it's not about oil and emissions, it's about anti-capitalism as per words from the horse's mouth. Then there's the other point that there's no basis to their climate scaremongering anyway, as per the papers repeatedly cited which demonstrate this using empirical data as opposed to inadequate modelling.

You repeatedly forget these key points and blunder on as if blissfully unaware - which is curious, possibly you become distracted by some anti-capitalist squirrel when such things have been documented (n times in this thread, and in other threads).

Wrong. Everyone knows that fossil fuels. like lithium for batteries, is a finite resource.
The availability of fossil fuels now, gives the planet time to look for, and discover a viable alternative. and get it into production, sufficient to meet the needs of the global population.
What JSO are proposing, is to stop oil, BEFORE, or regardless of whether or not a viable alternative has been discovered.
This can only mean the deaths of billions across the planet, mainly from starvation, but also from freezing to death in winter (this however could be what they are actually aiming for)
JSO are like someone edging out onto a high up tree branch, trying to reach a better one, but who want the tree branch cut (on the tree side of the branch) before the better branch has even been spotted, let alone grasped. They are just blind deliberately ignorant fools, who cannot see beyond the end of their noses.

Nor beyond the end of capitalism. This isn't surprising as it's not going anywhere.

The hypocrisy is rank.

They avail themselves of the fruits of modern capitalism and even fossil fuels, when they choose, but want to stop others doing so, and with impunity. iPhones, cars, planes, synthetic fabrics, are all fine for them to use, but they want to stop other’s at whim.

IMHO theft is abhorrent and there is nothing more irreplaceable than lost time.

I still want to see them made to pay for cleanup and cost of their actions when convicted. For example the ones who interrupted Glyndebourn, 80k just in ticket refunds. Out of their pockets, take it. No doubt can't pay , won't pay.
