Argue yes, fight enough to be known to the police? I'll show you thousands of couples who have arguments that don't result in the police being involved.

This is a guess based on what little I've seen of Oscar Pistorius:

He's a narcissist and psychopath.
I bet you get called in for jury duty quite often, don't you?

It depends who called the police, it could be a nosey neighbour who heard shouting( seeing it's a flat , easily done) or it could be one of the parties in which case I agree with you.

Most top sportspeople have those personality traits to varying degrees. You don't get to the top without unusual levels of self-absorption and disregard for the needs of others.

The Mental, it appears, is rife.

SA Article said:
Hours before paralympian Oscar Pistorius allegedly shot dead his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, she sent out a tweet about Valentine's Day.

It read: "What do you have up your sleeve for your love tomorrow???"

Pistorius is renowned worldwide for his achievements on the sports field, but his love life has been equally headline-worthy.

Before Pistorius attained star status, he was attached to girlfriend Vicky Miles, who had known him since his school days. A photo of them in 2006 shows Miles on his lap, both of them beaming.

They split up in 2008 and re-united a while later. They apparently broke up again in early 2012.

In mid-2012, the New York Post suggested Pistorius had moved on from Miles and was dating Russian supermodel Anastassia Khozissova.

The leggy blonde was said to have met the athlete in New York and they were spotted holding hands in Chelsea.

Neither of their public relations teams confirmed the relationship.

Cape Town marketing student Samantha Taylor told the City Press newspaper in November 2012 that she had been dating Pistorius for a year-and-a-half.

She and Oscar were filmed on the beaches of the Seychelles on SABC3 magazine show Top Billing in September 2012.

Pistorius arrived at the SA Sports Awards in November with FHM model Reeva Steenkamp.

She was quoted in the City Press newspaper as saying at the event: "We’re just friends. I promise I’ll tell you if there’s anything more... It’s just a coincidence that we’re sitting at the same table and arrived in the same car."

Taylor first told City Press that Steenkamp was dating Pistorius's friend.

She then claimed Steenkamp had been following her on photo-sharing site Instagram and knew exactly where she was and everything that was happening in her relationship with Pistorius.

"Oscar has such a way with women. She’s probably not the only one he’s got," Taylor reportedly said.
She confirmed they had split.

In an interview with Rapport newspaper, Taylor said she "prepared to reveal what Pistorius made me go through", but later withdrew everything she said in a lawyer's letter.

The Star newspaper then reported in late November that Pistorius and Clifton Shores TV producer Quinton van der Burgh came to blows about the alleged infidelity of an unnamed 18-year-old woman Pistorius was dating.

The athlete was said to have confronted Van der Burgh at the Kyalami racetrack in Johannesburg. Van der Burgh laid a charge of intimidation against him.

The two men exchanged threats via SMS. Van der Burgh's friend, former soccer player Marc Batchelor, then got involved in the spat. Pistorius allegedly told Batchelor he would break his legs.
Batchelor then apparently threatened Pistorius.

That 'SA Article' adds nothing other than OP likes the ladies and that he had arguments with men who knew those ladies...or am I missing something?
We need to know if the ladies he likes are predisposed to breaking in and pretending to be burglars (increasingly unlikely), or if OP has a really over developed trigger finger, paranoia, a nasty temper and a severe lack of self-control...

Police added that there had been previous incidents at the address and described them as "allegations of a domestic nature".

"The SA Police Service were just as surprised this morning to hear on the radio that allegations had been made that the deceased had been perceived to be a burglar," police spokesperson Denise Beuke said, adding that they were not the source of those allegations.
Show me a couple who don't argue?
My point was more that someone may have assumed that this was some "prank gone wrong" as the police have said.

I can show you plenty of couples which haven't been involved in "allegations of a domestic nature".

All those thousands of friends who argue must be very tiring. smile

On the TV just now a rather cute SA cop made a point in saying they will appose bail.
To me that means they don't think it was an accident.

That, and the minor point that they have charged him with murder..

It screams that he seems to attract those with a bunny-boiler disposition, not to mention his threats to break another fella's legs.

I can't quite make out whether or not he was or wasn't actually still in a relationship with Reeva.

Only Reeva sounds a bit Mental-y in that article... plus if you date more than 2 women in your life the likelihood of encountering mental are monu-mental... thats just life.
His reaction to mental however sets an interesting precident...

Holy st. Saw this news break but was busy freezing to death outside. Screwed either way here. Any previous argument they’ve had is going to used against him. Looks very shady regardless.

Oh well. That’s where guns get you.

Interesting to see some of the reaction. - Some people seem to be taking side almost.

British athletes seems to have gone with the slightly bland (but very wise and, given what we know, only sensible), 'it's all such an awful tradgedy etc I met him and he was nice' - fairly bland.

Some SA celebrities though are talking around the issue of crime in south africa - which to me is an implied defence of him already.

I will be sticking with the bland and sensible option until we know more.

They must have pretty damning evidence to charge him so soon.
Not necessarily, apparently Oscar himself asked for the case to be heard so soon.

As for his version of events, I don't think it can be ruled out at this stage as, whilst my father was visiting relatives there, one was shot dead on his driveway by an employee and another was car-jacked - also supposedly in an exclusive area!

Whatever really happened, unfortunately I think Oscar's career may well be over as there will always be those who suspect it was not a tragic accident (if it was). I'm just grateful I got to see him compete at the Olympics /Paralympics, it really was quite something to behold.
