Summations from both sides, then jury instructions from the judge.
Cohen testimony could go Sway it in either way, I think. Trump duped by skeazebag lawyer, or typical trump using a sleazebag lawyer?
One thing that would steer me is the "fake names" in the NDA, to be honest.

Well put! I always thought this was a slam dunk case - despite press reports of this being the weaker case.Cohen testimony could go Sway it in either way, I think. Trump duped by skeazebag lawyer, or typical trump using a sleazebag lawyer?

Another bit of the linked story above was when Costello effectively said - 'that never happened' or 'I never chased Cohen as a client nor would I benefit from the high profile' only to be then shown adn asked to read his own emails - one of which was with his son(?) who congratulated him on 'winning' Cohen as a cleint and how that would hopefully lead to great things etc.
One of the emails shown absolutely refuted/directly contradicted his testimony under oath - when shown and challened on the email, he simply referred to it as 'that's what it says' or similar. Incredible.
Blanche was also making a big song and dance about Cohen's £35K per month payments beign a retainer - he was admonished for repeating this 'lie' only to keep making the same 'mistake'. Blanche then ran through other 'retainers' that Cohen had in place and kept asking if Trump knew Cohen was working for others behind Trump's back - only for Cohen to reply- "Trump introduced us" and so on....
IMO. the link is worth a read and I wish I had paid more attention as the reporting can be so skewed depending on the reporter and paper/outlet involved.
I said earlier this morning, he's got no defence to the charges, but the first 10 are for the cheques he got the fail sons to sign, so he may escape those charges.
The rest is nailed on. Cohen was the icing, not the proof, that was already established by all the other witnesses, and the defence witness was purely there for trumps revenge against Cohen, not to help his case. Costello was a terrible witness, undermined the defence, was caught out lying.
Defence goes first on summation, prosecution second. Team trump are already preparing him to lose, hence the rants.

I thought the sons only signed SOME of the cheques and Trump signed the rest? I will defer to your expertise obviously though... Costello wont have done his own reputation any good by some way. It did feel inept, with Costello answering a question even when a Prosecution objection to a question was sustained and the question was struck. The rest is nailed on. Strange choice of wording in that headline. By their own reporting Biden said “you can clap now” at the end of his speech, hardly seems like begging.Normally it's "TRUMP WINS THING" but in this instance it's "BIDEN BREATHES AIR AND THAT IS BAD"
We are being manipulated.

trump was a write in for the first round of votes in for Libertarian Party presidential nominee. RFK Jr, a late addition Sunday morning, is out.
Seems the maga crowd were just there to pack the hall for his speech only.

Last round of voting

and trumps deluded response, where he was booed at every opportunity and frequently.

Despite trumps claims of never doing the paperwork to be nominated, NBC points out trump in his speech asked libertarians for their party's nomination and votes.Seems the maga crowd were just there to pack the hall for his speech only.

Knowing Smith has applied for a gag order over his threats to the FBI, trumps been repeating his debunked claim that the FBI were to use deadly force against him when recovering the stolen docs from magalardo and Biden approved it.
OIt comes in yet another grift email, which finishes with a request for donations of up to $500 and a demand to “drop all charges” against him.

Meanwhile trump lawyers have asked Judge Cannon to strike the special counsel’s motion to modify trump’s condition of release and asked her to impose sanctions on prosecutors who participated in the decision to file the motion. (no doubt trumps demand on the filing)

trumps sold one of his jets, A Cessna Citation
The Daily Beast is reporting that maga megadonor Mehrdad Moayedi has purchased the former president's $10 million jet
"Federal Aviation Administration records show that on May 13, the aircraft’s registration changed from the Trump Organization’s DT Air Corp to a Texas entity called MM Fleet Holdings LLC. State records tie that company to Mehrdad Moayedi, an Iranian-American construction and development tycoon who lives near Dallas and runs Centurion American Custom Homes."

He's skint
But I guess that once you've maxed out contributions you can always buy something overpriced from trump?
Many people claiming he paid more than twice what it's worth
Edit: Theres claims this is the jet used to take 8 boxes of documents from Palm Beach to Bedminister, the one that Nauta loaded

They might want to give that plane a good search before it gets handed over. Sounds like an easy way to spirit documents away and money in.The Daily Beast is reporting that maga megadonor Mehrdad Moayedi has purchased the former president's $10 million jet

This piece of tat deserves closer scrutiny. A close up of just one portion of this masterpiece - the artist helpfully provides some detail as to the characters depicted.
Yes it is a genuine Trump-endorsed product. Some might suggest that the artist is in need of some serious professional help …

However as testified by many people, including Pecker, it was all about his campaign, not to protect Melania (trump lie). Nor did Cohen do it without telling trump (more trump lies) as we heard from Hope Hicks - no way would Cohen do that, she had such a low opinion of him whilst confirming his story.
There's far too much documentation backing up the charges, and witness testimony confirming that.
Remember trump refused to testify...and Weisselberg has been silenced. Te payoff we learnt about explains why he tried to allow trump to blame him in the last fraud trial.
The only question will be what punishment trump gets. No prison warden will want him in jail, with all the issues it creates with a secret service detail. Believe it or not it's his first criminal offence, but then the threats, the rhetoric. House arrest would immediately be jumped on by trump as election interference.
Either way trump will be on bail whilst he appeals and could drag on for sometime, but if found guilty he will be a convicted criminal standing for potus... GOP have a lot to answer for. How low they have gone.

Very true. We mock our political leaders here in the UK but we would have drawn the line years ago if someone as malign as trump (and a supporting party) had tried on even half the stuff that's happened in the US. https://apnews.com/article/trump-indictment-full-d...

Indeed, the courts took Boris Johnson to task a few times and Boris was at least smart enough to know he'd never win at trying to turn the people against the justice system for his own gain. Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
