Ok not Space Muslims, but might spark some interest in the red planet

Basically a physicist has a book to sell, and he reckons Mars was wiped out by a nuclear attack from an advanced civilisation who refuse to let younger civilisations develop.

Personally I think he has just nicked the plot from Mass Effect

whilst he may well be utterly wrong what proof can be presented that he IS wrong.
he does have a a Ph.d so i imagine he is fairly bright!
I imagine Mars could well look like re remains of a planet subjected to
a large scale disaster in the distant past nuclear or not.
