It seems as if the Obama administration is digging out blind to roll out the red carpet for Camerons visit over the next 3 days. Joint press articles in the Washington Post, talking of a very special and essential relationship. Trip to a Basketball game, Cameron will also be the first foreign leader who will ever accompany a US president on Air Force One.

So it's clearly an election year PR trip for Obama but it has got to be a massive PR coup for Cameron. After all I don't remember Blair or Brown being welcomed quite so warmly. Also it must surely send a very strong message to Argentina (Don't mess with me Cristina, or I'll get my mate to help beat you up).

It is clearly in both of their interests to be jolly good chums at the moment.
