Seriously though, sorry to hear that buddy. Hope you’re through the otherside, never easy going through a split but I’m sure you’ll bounce back and it’s a good opportunity to enjoy single life for a while... in case my other half reads this, I just need to point out that I AM not JEALOUS.....

Welcome back, wondered where you had disappeared off to
Thanks mate. Feeling alot better now. As evidenced by the fact i regularly refresh my yahoo finance app when this time last month i barely would open it lol.

Hope you're well. Any new news on IDP?
We’ve all been through it buddy, many of us now look back fondly at that time!

On IDP.. I’ll update in a few days, couple of things moving around. I’m still confident in their future and may top up again, just need to get advice on a couple of things.

Will you be presenting or on the list of peope that take questions on 30 Sep?
I'm trying to think of a few that the PH gambling collective can lob in.....
No, I’ll be sitting listening to it - will be interesting to see what questions get asked.

Anyone think I should cash out now?
Absolutely not. If you can just hold and wait you should be fine. The Buffett patience quote springs to mind, as cliched as it is.
I don't think Buffett is buying the kind of stocks mentioned in this thread : hehe:
smile

I shouldn’t be saying this and appreciate if we can keep this within this thread - definitely don’t want the press to pick up on it...

Buffett is about buy RBG... apparently Warren B and Charlie can’t get enough of a slippery nipple..

Keep it to yourself, don’t want the shareprice multiplying..

Puns and joking aside what do you actually think about RBG? I have a couple and this semi second lockdown is going to drop them further imo.
Eat out to help out has been good for them and should introduce to them a lot of people who may not have considered Revs as a place to eat. Obviously a 2nd national lockdown will be devastating for all of the hospitality sector. Will all come down to how much support the government offers and how low they can get their burn rate.

If they make it through until the virus is better contained, or indeed a vaccine is found, then the returns could be amazing.

I topped up today and will probably continue to top up if the sp weakens. It’s now my biggest gamble and it’s undoubtably a gamble!

Big week this week!
Good luck everyone.
The run up to the end of this month is certainly going to be exciting...

Ignoring the fact that : (choose either depending on your politics)
A) the world is going to end due to some highly infectious killer Chinese bat flu; or
B) the economy is going to implode because inept politicians are worried about a disease so dangerous you need to be tested to see whether you have it.

We have -
- the AA being bought out, after a fierce bidding war, for £2 a share.
- Skin winning an exclusive order for monitoring every bog in the world for Covid whilst also discovering a cure for cancer. Immediately gets promoted to the FTSE100 and makes the PH gamblers all billionaires overnight
- Amigo, upon realising that running a listed company like a storyline from Towie isn’t a good idea, decide to make amends with the founder and the sp increases to £1 overnight.
- Capita sells its education business for £500m and suddenly stops feckn up every contract they have - SP goes to £4.
- BooHoo figures out that you can pay hostages less than slaves, immediately puts Leicester into an enforced lock down and reduces average pay per hour to 23p and a bottle of tizer. This combined with our woke yuuf realising that their moral compass can be silenced by a dress for £2.99 (free returns) propels their profits to Apple type levels and brings their market cap to the same size as Scotland’s GDP.

Is it just me, or does the above sound more plausible than half the crap stated on the LSE boards?

If one of the above happens, I’ll be happy. It’s not too much to ask?

And a huge nightmare with HMRC..

A few have asked about IDP and prospects.

I don’t have any inside, or price sensitive, information however I would be disappointed if I don’t make at least 3x my original investment over the next 24 months. I’m hopeful for quite a bit more and planning to be a long term holder.

AA and RBG been awful.... have topped up on RBG again today.

I just want AA to be bought out now ... it was one of my initial bets and thought the sp could multiply but it’s been a slog..

Amigo continues to surprise!

I’m worried about SKIN tomorrow - anything less than a cure for Covid, cancer and baldness could spook the market..

An amazing start to the morning, then Gerry and his team ramped up the blarney and the craic was lost...

A totally st presentation, completely inexcusable at that level - especially as half of it was recorded.

They’ve done the hard stuff and Fecked up the presentation.

The last Gerald to fk up so badly was Ratner and we all know what happened there.

Still in... good to see some pr coming through - the Reuter’s and USA today articles should help, and then we have the Yorkshire Post.. I think it will rise steadily tomorrow, we just need to keep GB away from PowerPoint - he’s only gone and weaponised it...

Cine - st popcorn company...

At least tomorrow can’t be any worse.....

Glad to see that today couldn’t be any worse from a skin point of view... oh...

Boo doing great - it was my 3rd largest holding, then yesterday Skin overtook it and pushed it down to 4th.

Now, thanks to Skin’s excellent presentation skills, our favourite (Alleged) slave traders have regained their 3rd spot position and SKIN is now half of what it was at yesterday’s peak..

Sold RBG at a 40% loss, my worst share performance to date, my smallest gamble but even so a £1,900 hit.

It might recover from the CVA, it might well go bust. Not taking the chance.

Utter stupidity on my part investing in bar/restaurant/hotel sector in these times, and undid some of my better judged trading this week.

Still £500 up on the day somehow thanks to SNG having a positive day for once.
If you want real stupidity, I topped up.. smile

Oh yes... Thursday was great, until they started talking...

One of the worst presentations I’ve ever seen.. big statement.. at least they don’t have to worry about someone going short on their stock and publishing a damning report about their business .. they are more than capable of doing that themselves.

Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.. What is it about Gerald’s and their need to torpedo businesses? Anyone for a prawn sandwich?

I’m not as confident as I was, however, hopeful for a recovery back to the recent (and momentary) highs.

Are you still in?

Gutted on SKIN, but still very much in.

Bought at 17p so still well up. My theory is if I sell now I and it rises I would be even more annoyed than if I just stick and lose a bit more

Definitely need to learn to sell when things are good more. I get carried away and start thinking that I may be about to make my millions!
When to sell is a trick I haven’t mastered yet either.

Have fomo when not invested in something, then fomo when invested and thinking about selling. At least it helps with the ‘time in the market’ theory.

Loving the SKIN LSE board.

Now have people saying they are glad that the presentation wasn’t slick ... and that their major investor had to sell as they were making too much money.

Quality.

I wonder how many users LSE would have if they charged for each stupid post..

IDP results arent looking too rosy in the short term.

Made a full year loss.

Sorry 500.
Given the trading conditions they've experienced this year I'm happy to excuse an annual loss against their mid-term prospects.
Although I am in IDP, they don't excite me much. I think they're a safe bet. They seem to have ever increasing revenue, their products are in big name stores etc. But I'm disappointed that with a bigger revenue they managed to convert a profit last year to a loss this year. I think they're a safe steady eddy long term hold.
Not a get rich quick share but I’m looking forward to seeing how things progress over the next 6/12 months.

I think it’s going to get more exciting.

Have been topping up RBG today.

Had looked forward to the massive increase in Boo Hoo’s sp off the back of good results... was disappointed! Oh well...

Question for those with RR. Will you buy the option price?

Also separate question. BWNG what is the thoughts for this. Basicly it is the male version of boohoo right? Will it go back up im down 15% at current price.

Edited by vulture1 on Thursday 1st October 15:47
Whereas Boo are fast fashion, BWNG are fat fashion - Simply Be, Jacamo, JD Williams, etc. Mix of male and female. Boohoo also has Boohoo man - not as big as the female side.

It’s my top performing share by percentage increase, up 206% - only 4d gets close at 201%.. the there is a big gap smile Hopefully they’ll get to at least 75% of their precovid sp.

I think 500Miles prefers ED stuff (than EV) with his buy of IDP https://www.innovaderma.com/our-brands/prolong/

Yeah I'm up for EV stuff, got two vegan stocks too now. Like you I've ditched all the FTSE recovery stocks I had (that aren't recovering and perhaps never will) and instead looking at stocks that are new and exciting.
I think you’ll find it’s for PE, not ED smile I’ve got FUM for ED, cover all bases so to speak.

Topped up on RBG today..

Edited to add : shall we just try and forget about September? I’ve always preferred the last quarter of the year..

I’ve got just over 9% currently, might lift that a little bit.
