Don't automatically assume you're limited to £10k either. I went to pay mine last week and noticed that whilst the limit on my personal account is £10k my business account was £100k.

Wish I could still say I'm processing 3-4 payments but sadly I was able to do it in one smile

At least £200k profit and saving £30 on CHAPS hehe
Probably how he has a profit instead of squandering it on useless rip off financial services!
A+ for that. A penny saved, is a penny earnt.

IMO set up limited standing order to pay daily for X days. Zero cost, all nice. Amen.

Cheers again for replies. Yep, I'm going to do it by instalments - sod paying £30 to be able to make my bank statement look cleaner etc. I'm sure HSBC told me a while ago when I had this problem, that the maximum of £10k per day cannot be increased for 'internet' banking transactions. In the past I have paid by the Government Gateway (think that's what it's called) but I didn't like the system - possibly a glitch, but kept saying I didn't owe anything when I clearly did!

I'm with HSBC and you can set the maximum amount yourself online.

if you are having to pay £30k+ in CT, I imagine there is a fair amount going through your business account. So,

a) there probably is not a 10k and if there is, it can easily be raised. My internet banking limit is 250k per day to be made up of 10x 25k payments. This has never happened so I'm not bragging.....just saying.

b) as a side note, you shouldn't be paying for any banking services that normally apply to business accounts. Phone your relationship manager and tell them your t/o merits free banking and I'm pretty sure they will agree and make the necessary arrangements to get free banking.

I paid ours this week in 2 instalments on the same day, our RBS account only allows £20K max transfer at a time.
So I paid £20k then £8k 10 minutes later.

I did the same last year without any issues from HMRC.
