Sound about right? It's a non-powered compact one that runs on salt blocks apparently.

I know sod all about them but thought it would be a good idea to stop the shiny new bathroom getting ruined with scale.

Thanks

Sounds a bit expensive.

I paid around around £1000 for a Kinetico Aqublue including fitting and a bit of pipework under the floorboards.

I paid £460 for the latest gen Monarch Midi (powered, salt tablets) which was recommended on here and having done the rounds of a few plumbers merchants after fitting it, they all said that would be their choice too.

Similar to Muncher having bought the same softener that the three kitchen companies we got for quotes all recommended, in our case a Tapworks AD11 for about £400 (gone up a bit now I think). It only regenerates as required based on a flowmeter, so we've only got through 3 bags of salt per year on average.

It certainly helps with the shower doors, etc in terms of not leaving the white spots we used to suffer from.

Is it a kinetico 2020c?

If so the price is at the top end but not crazy.

I'm having one installed next week. They will take (cheaper) tablet salt too if you get the right tray.

Plus £300 to install and tidy up existing pipe work because its a mess.

Which save £450 quid, so thanks all!
