So I have a nice supply of ants in my kitchen, which appear to be between the outside wall and kitchen cupboards (Weatherboard house).

Had the house fumigated, but 1 month after the warranty ran out they're back. we've tried the various baits but they're still going.

Would it be worth ripping out the units are digging them out or are they likely to be somewhere else and I'll end up ripping the whole side of the house down?

The Nippon Bait Stations work wonders for me, cleared up any nests within a matter of days, then just keep one around to catch any new ants. Have literally seen the ants swarm the bait as soon as it goes down. I got myself a massive box of them and still have a lot left.

I have found pouting a kettle full of boiling water in to the entrance of the nest has worked an absolute treat.

Yes always work for me...

New house, surrounded by them, leave little ant hills in the lawn of sandy earth they're that bad.

Chuck a couple of bait stations down, no ants come in - all stay outside - strange!!!!

Bait stations worked for me also. Came home to a 2 inch wide trail of ants going from front door to kitchen, and back. Seemed very well policed and very impressive if it wasn't in my house.

Bait station placed by front door, no more ants after a couple of days. Replaced bait station after a few weeks, and I've never seen any more. That was a couple of years ago.

In my experience. (which is once)

They came in for a reason. Loads of ants in kitchen, kept food away etc and still kept coming. Washed the kitchen bin out with bleech and never seen them since.

We find Ant Stop the best solution. Has worked every time for us.

The granules and not the traps.

Completely kills the nest. Takes a few days.

we have had an on going problem for years, we currently live in an old barn and have had to endure swarms of flying ants in the bedroom during sultry weather spells. We always call in the professionals to fumigate, costs about £40 but frankly I would pay any sum! In other parts of the house we use Raid, which is effective to a point, but if they won't go call in the Pro's mate.

Talcum powder sprinkled near where they are coming in.

B&Q do a residual spray can that works well. The little buggers tread on it and take it back to the nest. Like weeds though, it's maintenance rather than outright victory.

Certainly works for me too - and their baby eggs all come floating to the surface too during the event...

Thread revival. I have ants at the bottom of my garden near my shed, and where I am planning on building a man cave. The bottom of the garden is mud with wood chippings, concrete base for the shed. I hate ants and want to make sure they are gone before the building of the man cave. Is there anything I can to get rid of them long term, or at least prevent them getting into the man cave?

Double thread revival....this is exactly me, apart from the fact the cabin is installed and the little bugg*rs are present and coming in.

Ive used Ant Stop yesterday, but if they go, I'm going to be getting the sealant out like a mofo....its going to be my office so I don't want any sight of the damn things. Hate them....the enemy

ant stop should work fine its worked for myself, but remember you gotta leave the dead ants and dirt around, the process is they collect and eat their own dead which are full of poision and take it back home to spread it like wildfire, its tempting to sweep and clean them up but it won't solve the issue !

Also to note they work on black ants, not yellow/red ants so the worry is red ants could take over later on.

Am still looking for a cheaper solution since ant stop ! cost 4 quid for 2 pack and only last 3 months.

Thanks. I have used Ant stop and its worked and I can confirm its also worked on red ants also. As I placed one near the black ant brigade and one near the red. Both dead. I now only have 1 or 2 ants in the cabin, so acceptable levels.

I understand about the cost, but tbf id rather spend £12 a year to keep everything all good. B&Q are selling 2 for £3 at the moment :-)
