Any ideas how I can stop it? Just put some traps down? Squirt the holes full of expanding foam? Its making a massive mess as they create piles of dust which blows everywhere when I open the door!

Squash a load of them and leave them there. They'll soon disappear.

..are you on sandy soil? - they normally love to excavate that and I suspect that's what you're seeing rather than deconstructed mortar.

Paraffin scattered around the perimeter and along the wall/floor joint is the old farmers remedy, and it works.

Just out of interest is that liquid paraffin or the granules ?

Someone online said vinegar does the same effect, spray it on ants and they curl up and die asap.

Also can throw off the scent so they get confused and lost and die.

I give another vote to ant stop ! baits, 4 quid for 2 pack, last 3 months.... bit pricey imo cos you need a few packs but they do actually work, but apparently wont work on red ants so a real concern once the black ants go then the red ones come in !
