London Basement Conversion
Discussion
Anyone done a central London basement conversion on here? I am looking at about 120 sq metres of basement to become living space with a courtyard and two reception rooms off it.
Do you know of good companies based on experience who can deliver it and perhaps good project management agents? Would you be willing to provide a cost per sq metre guide price?
Thanks you.

When I lived in London these people seemed to be the “go to” for a lot of people. Back then the costs were approximately £400 sq ft with the properties selling for multiples of that per sq ft. I’d imagine that financially it looks a lot less attractive now as build costs must be much higher.

Some absolutely horror stories which I am sure you’re aware of. It is amazing how much work you have to do to get one of these through planning but when it comes down to appointing contractors there seems to be very little oversight which given the potential impact on neighbouring properties seems odd!

Thank you, will take a look. Yes party wall agreements must be pretty hefty work in these, let alone the overall construction. The basement I have is good and solid so not digging out just making habitable but will need hefty propping during the works.https://www.londonbasement.co.uk/
