Anybody tried

http://www.primrose.co.uk/advanced-dog-bark-stoppe...

or know of any better aids to stop/reduce annoying dog barking?

Lazy neighbours don't walk their dog - think its fine to let it bark constantly in the garden...even when they are in the garden ! They also think because they don't get up till 9am to go to work it's fine to let it out at 12.30am every night...knowing their neighbours (us) get up at 5am. No attempt to shut it up, so since poison darts/air rifles etc are not an option I'm looking at the above.

I know its not the dogs fault - it's the pie eating lazy bds I want to shoot.

A blast with an air horn has been suggested to scare the fat little fker...when we are sitting out in the garden. Does anyone know if air horns are illegal? A blast from one of these would give the dog a fright and make it obvious to the ignorant neighbours the constant barking is a pain. Wouldn't be a prolonged blast..just enough to give it a fright.

Not really looking forward to my first summer sitting out in the garden listening to it.
I will try talking to them again before taking this action - but they are a bit weird and very lazy.

Anyway - I may look into getting one of these horns...I'm sure when I went to the football years ago they were illegal - although this may only have been a rule for inside grounds.

I understand everything you guys are saying. They know we find it annoying - all they have said is it barks through the fence at you because he knows there is another dog in the house. It's bks - our dog couldn't care less about their dog. Their dog barks constantly - when it see us through the fence in our kitchen it goes non-stop. Putting stuff in the bins outside - runs out their conservatory and it's non-stop again. They never walk the thing. When we moved in we introduced ourselves - noticed the dog and asked how old it was - thinking it was 9 or 10 given its portly frame - 4 yrs old. never exercised, fat as fk. The conversation that day was hard to say the least - they didn't care they had new neighbours and basically wanted rid. Other neighbours have gone out of their way to say hello, come across when we have been out in garden, washing the cars etc. All have said have you met MR + Mrs X - ohh they're very quiet - keep themselves to themselves.

These guys keep their curtains shut all day every day - conservatory blinds shut all day every day - door open for this dog to run in and out as it pleases. As soon as it appears it barks - at fk all ! Its crazy. It is probably bored/frustrated. These people also have some fancy birds that screech a lot - they keep these things in a greenhouse. They must have been roasting the other week in the heat. When they are in their garden and the dog is going crazy because we're gardening they ignore it completely. If they actually made an effort to shut it up I might forgive them a little.

Dogs bark - I have a terrier which doesn't give a st - only barks if you ring our bell. But constant barking is a fking pain. We wear ipods in the garden...but why should we. I've tried mentioning it - they say its just getting used to you being there. bks - its constant even at 1.30am - runs out barks like fk - wakes us. hows that getting used to us?

I have thought about asking if I can walk it with ours - see if that helps. The air horn thing might make them ask why we're doing it. Although we're not long in this village I've walked my dog here for nearly 3 yrs when we lived just outside it - so I know virtually all dog owners here to say morning etc too - never seen these guys till we moved in because they never walk it.

Why have a dog to let it st in its own yard? Why keep fancy birds - in a greenhouse.

I will try and speak with them again. Just considering all options.

Apologies for the badly constructed rant. Bank Holiday Friday and it woke us at 7am - no lie in. They and it decide when we get to sleep and how long we get. Getting a bit fed up of it.

Big fence between us - that's why I was thinking air horn. Every time it barks continuously and I'm in garden it gets a loud blast = fright. Similar to water pistol I guess ! May buy one of the ultrasound things I opened the thread about.

I gave in earlier and blasted them with music....if you are interested Stone Roses first then Rage Against the Machine. They are I Guess mid 40's...not sure if it's their thing...but the dog was brought in. When I say blasted...I mean loud...too loud for me to enjoy it...although it took me back !

Perhaps I've been childish...or weak, but I guess I've let them know you are annoying us.....continually and if need be I can annoy you. I don't want a war..i will speak with them if it keeps up. God knows what kind of music they like.....could be glam rock for all I know...I don't need that kinda war !!!!

OK just to move this a bit to a different nuisance problem: my neighbour has recently taken early retirement, and spends a LOT of time sitting in his garden, reading, and occasionally barbequing. All well and good, you might think, but he has a persistent, tickly cough problem. Every minute, or few minutes there's a "uuchh-hu" (not really sure how to represent it, but it's a short "smokers cough" type of sound). I don't know whether there's anything we can do about it, but it is driving my wife and I absolutely mental. We are at the stage where we are dreading another summer of it. Is there anything we can do - does this sort of thing count as a nuisance that we can involve someone like Environmental health with? Help!
I'd rather have your problem!

Although...I doubt it's serious...chuck him a bottle of cough syrup!!

I never understood how people manage to ignore their own dog barking. We used to have a neighbour whose dog barked constantly at us through the fence when we went in the garden (the neighbours just left it in the garden whether they were in or out) so eventually, after trying to get the neighbours to do something about it, I started throwing bacon rinds and other nice treats over the fence, and soon it realised we were nice and stopped barking at us.
Beyond us also. You buy a dog you must know it needs walked. They are happy to go around their own lawn picking its st up...in their own garden..the grass they mow....with their own mower. Beyond me. May try something like you have done.
