It is going on my sixth night homeless. I say homeless, I have shelter - that of cheap hotels - but it's proving difficult to secure fixed accommodation. I've considered flats, terraced homes and house shares, but a common trend is so called agents/landlords complicating agreements by insisting on intrusive checks. I am simple man in terms of, you are providing a service, I have the funds, lets make a deal. By principle I will not consent to checks so I'm limited. I'm not going to jeopardize my identity by providing my NI number, 'next of kin' (of which I have non), my work details, line manager identity, bank balance or bank details to facilitate as such, or tell a stranger my annual income, even my name is non of anyone's business frankly - this is all before forking out unrealistic rent prices for the most depressing of abodes imaginable.

Not really sure what to do now. I've just turned 31, no family, no friends or ties of any kind, I am a civil engineer by education and trade - out of contract currently so, 'unemployed'. To my name I have a £1500 car, a car jam packed full of belongings and about £24000 in the bank. No real interest in travelling as I couldn't justify spending that sort if money, but I guess I am truly free but lacking ideas.

Looking for some pointers, words of wisdom or general noise to give me advice or inspiration? Somewhat directionless at this point.

plenty strange people out there. suppose they kicked him out the hotel for no reason either.
It's an 11am check out - pretty much standard. I am still in the hotel using WIFI in the public area.

Decided I was too hung over to make it to Blackpool so I re-booked to my cheap 40GBP / night hotel for the 6th night. Still homeless guys, but to be fair I've bummed around today because of the hangover. I should get something to eat.

What a pointless and pathetic thread...

To sum up;

Man stays in hotel for a few nights, whilst looking for a new place to stay...
