Possibly a spare day in New Zealand?

Hi, just that really. Going on a work trip to New Zealand - Auckland, this Saturday and I may have a spare day to myself.

I'm staying at the http://www.spencerhotel.co.nz/ in Takapuna.

I'll have a hire car and fancy just having a bit of a drive around to see some views. Any recommendations as to destinations?
