oh yeah - a non-PC joke thread will be cool.
And as a result of the thread, PH gets blacklisted for inappropriate content; which in turn means that no-one that works at any reasonably sized corporate; everyone in the city, etc, etc, will not be able to access to PH at work.

This is why inappropriate jokes are removed. Pretty simple easy. The rules are very clear and simple. If you want to post racist jokes, then there's more appropriate websites out there - of which PH is not one.
And just in case you think that this is just some admin hang-up; we usually only react to complaints from other PHers - sometimes we agree; and sometimes we disagree. Suffice to say appropriate action is taken if we agree.

As one of the many PH'ers who visit at lunchtime from work, I agree with Kinky - this is a car site, not a sh'te jokes site. The Lounge is a side-bar to the real purpose of the site, and if too much crap gets posted in The Lounge, then it WILL get blocked by corporate internet filters......following which, in true PH stylee, I'll get me and 5 mates to find whoever was responsible and administer a good "keyboard-shoeing"...or perhaps VBRJ!
Come on chaps, let's not get bogged down in the semantics of what does and doesn't constitute a racist joke. It's very simple really; if a reasonable person finds the joke offensive, then we'll probably take action.
In this instance we had plenty of complaints from reasonable people who did take offence, and Kinky took action which HM and the rest of the mods felt was entirely appropriate. We'd do the same again under identical circumstances. Please don't try and discover where the line is, because you might cross it...
Also, as Kinky says, we do this because we don't want PH to fall foul of corporate blocklists for such a stupid reason as a crap old joke or a picture of some soap star in her knickers. Let's be honest, once someone catches onto the fact that the productivity of a sizeable proportion of the male working population would double overnight if PistonHeads were blocked in the workplace we're banjaxed anyway. Until they do though, let's keep our heads down, shall we?

KinkyI agree with everything you have said, however was the joke posted by POJ racist? I recieved a copy and it didn't refer to any race. so a 30 day ban for being unoffensive seems harsh.
I agree though that Ph needs strong moderation in this area.
