Went into Morrisons the other day for some bits. Had to as didn't have the car. £25 for a few bits in a basket.

Popped into Lidl a few days later. £27 pretty much filled one of their small trolleys.

No comparison.
Quite right.

It isn't any sort of valid comparison.

Why don't you do it properly? Draw up a list of food and non-food products. Buy those items in Aldi/Lidl and then buy them in Tesco/Waitrose/Sainsburys/Fortnum and Mason etc.

Compare the different prices.

Then you would have a valid comparison.

Jeez chap. It was a post made a bit tongue in cheek. It wasn't a scientific like for like comparison.

One of the best things about our new Lidl - really wide parking spaces.
Even if I didn't save any money I'd still go back just for that reason.

Agreed, though you still get knobs abandoning vehicles to save walking an extra few yards.

Local Aldi at 9am this morning. Car park was virtually empty...

I try to park as far away from the door as possible,
the mouth breathers would park inside the shop given chance.
