That’s extremely kind of you, but my life has been mundane for the most part, interspersed with intervals of hedonistic adventure.
It’s too late now, but Laurence Harvey conveyed the sneering imperious persona that my ex wife said was my trademark, (how could one of the smartest women I ever knew interpret something so wrongly.)
If he could have affected a Cockney accent, with the rough edges filed down, and been trained to drive a Black Cab as good as I did, he’d have been a shoo-in for the part hehe
You drove a black cab? Do please tell us more. hehe

Ah the late great LH, I was going with David Niven, Stewart Granger or possibly Peter Sellers in full on character actor mode! I recently watched 'Life At The Top' where LH affected a northern accent and pootled around in a Mk1 Maserati Quattroporte, I know you don't 'do' cars Frank but imagine a slightly more refined Jag in an Italian suit and you'll get the picture.

Back on topic, my Mrs. has been smiling at me all morning, she's after something... sonar

Sit back, get a bowl of olives stuffed with pimientos, and a bottle of Chilean Casa de Colores, and I’ll fill in the blanks.
With that user name, I thought that you were a Spanish taxista yourself,

I need some help with this George, my first thought was that you were broadly hinting that I was a former account holder, with the user name of breadvan, I’m not.
I put breadvan in the Search box, but that wasn’t much help, someone years back had coined breadvan as a descriptive term for cars with square backs, but that wasn’t me either.
Please enlighten me.

Nah. At the time I was choosing my username, I Had just finished an 18 month contract with Her Maj’s Revenue Service. As a black cabbie I’m sure you’re very familiar with it’s workings. wink

The project during my time time had found 91 expat high net worth individuals, largely domiciled in Spain, who were found to be slightly economical with their declared income back home.

So more el tax(man) than anything else. hehe

At least with the naproxen you have the satisfaction knowing that she will be well constipated and literally “full ‘o st” for at least the period she takes them for plus a couple of days after coming off them
I suspect you're thinking of codeine.
No, constipation is a quite well documented side effect of Naproxen and expected in a large proportion of takers.
At risk of going off topic, no it isn't. Constipation is a very well documented and expected adverse effect of codeine and all opiate and opioid drugs, not any of the NSAIDs. Naproxen and other NSAIDs are far more likely to kill your kidneys first in any event.

Back on topic, Mrs QQ: have you fed the cats?
Me: yes also yes, yes and yes.
Mrs QQ: what do you mean?
Me: 1st one is yes I have seen both of them, 2nd is yes they have eaten their food and 3rd is yes they've both been outside.
Mrs QQ: I wasn't going to ask those, I was going to ask something else but you've made me forget now.

Another time, MIL needs someone to look at a big tree and do a report on its state. The MIL has a very long history of choosing the wrong person to do any job and getting scammed. Our gardener is also a qualified tree surgeon. Given the latter two facts, I made a simple suggestion.
Me: why don't we pay X (our gardener) his daily rate to travel down to London for the day and do the report? It'll still be cheaper than anyone your mother finds in London and we know he's qualified.
Mrs QQ: well, I was going to tell mum to ask X when she comes up in a couple of weeks.
Me: him to do the report?
Mrs QQ: no, what qualifications she should be looking out for and stuff.
Me: but she will still choose the worst option, pay through the nose and get scammed.
Mrs QQ: maybe we could find someone for her though, we would definitely find someone more reliable who won't scam her.
Me: yes...
Mrs QQ: how do you think we can look for one?
Me: at the risk of repeating myself and my original suggestion, why can't X be the tree surgeon we find?
Mrs QQ: oh, that's what you meant...

Bugger, I got confused with the classics from the Mrs thread for the anecdotes! Luckily Mrs QQ doesn't trap me with anything. Either that, or she sets her traps so well that I don't even realise that I've been trapped...

Next time I see the new Warburton's advert on the TV I'll make a point of confusing the Mrs. by saying ''oh look there's our man Frank...''.

An orange suit? Moi? I don’t think so, the orange

Thing is, the equality thing isnt always evenly applied.

Some women think sexism doesnt apply to them telling men what to do or making assumptions that something is a "mans job"

Despite being male I am quite happy to do the hoovering, its just division of labour, but if you ever ask a female to do it you are labelled a sexist pig.

There are few things that physically woman cant do that men can or vice versa, i think men have risen to a lot of the jobs int he past they wouldnt do, my dad can cook Cheese On Toast and thats about it, I can do a roast and am fairly competent, so in a lot of cases some of the traditional jobs women did have been parmed off onto the men but not seeing much going the other way..

I fully support equality, but sometimes, stuff like the retirement age being 5 years lower, no you cant bloody keep that, its equality, like was asked for so you get the good bits hopefully, and lose the ones you have to bring you in line.

I know chaps who get to do all the traditional male jobs and then seem to end up doing all the stuff their wives no longer do.
Interesting - I'd never considered the retiring 5 years earlier thing. I've never heard it discussed or challenged. Different thread maybe.

That's out of date, the female age is increasing to meet the male, & both are increasing to 66 by October next year. It's also only the age at which you can claim a state pension, you can "retire" whenever you want to.
