What ho Dibble old chap wavey there will also be a certain amount of swelling due to the number of times they've gone in there and messed around with it!!! Have you tried any of the exercises I suggested? I would have thought they'd have you doing certain exercises anyway to help keep mobility and strength?
I showed your exercises to the physio and they want me to stick with their specific exercises for the time being, so they know what exactly is going on and what is happening. Once I’m more mobile, they’re happy for me to introduce them and a few others they’ve got lined up for me.

The physios are a little bit baffled by my knee! There’s no damage to the joint, but I do have pain when bending/flexing it, in a place it wouldn’t (“shouldn’t”!) normally appear... the only plus side to the pain is it’s consistently been in the same place from day one. The best explanation at the moment is that it’s just soft tissue/ligament/tendon tightening through lack of use, because when I have used the leg more, it definitely eases right off. The main focus at the moment is muscle maintenance/building and improving range of movement in my knee and hip. Fortunately, it is improving, even if only slightly, but a tiny gain is still a gain.
As you say chap, any gain is still a gain!!! Keep it up and think good thoughts!!

What are you using the Larsen trap for? I've had two crows in ours, but I found it had to be there for over a week before they got used to it and went in. They're pretty good on rabbits if they're young and thick, but my .17HMR with a Yukon XT on it is like mustard on rabbits.

Good shot on the deer, Fallow I assume. What do you use for them? I've been using a .243 they drop like a sack of potatoes with it. Was is a good one for eating?

Moles, ironically it's my cats, they've had 3 of them, I think because it's so dry they're above ground more.
The deer was muntjack, .270 and right through the back of the head and a freezer full of venison. The larsen is for the magpies and normally good up to two years ago when they wouldnt go near it. The mole was by trap but we havent had much going on this year as the ground is too hard!
Yeah it's dry/hard alright. Out of 6500 trees I planted in Autumn/spring at least 2,000 are dead, and there's no proper rain in sight.

The Haymarket tech people have messed with the mobile site again ,rendering it almost unusable.

I cant take much more of this.

There is a workaround, get two mirrors and a cushion, place the mirrors so that the first is reflected in the second, place you phone in front of the first mirror and stand on your head ( cushion for comfort ) whilst looking into the second mirror. The site should now work perfectly.

Peri's right it's rubbish, people complained about their stupid privacy settings button getting in the way so this shower have doubled the size of the area with the site buttons in it so reducing the usable size of the screen by at least 15%!!!

So far we're just one mole, half a magpie and one deer less. The larsen trap has been a waste of time so far as well.
Larsen trap? confused

I wouldn't know what to do with a larsen if I caught one.

scratchchin Are they good eating?

Are they easy to gut and skin, or are they best baked in clay in a fire pit in the ground like hedgehogs? It's a good way of dealing with the prickles, they remain in the hard clay when you break it off.

ION, I have this afternoon received some condiments* in a plain white envelope along with two (2) beautifully crafted 8th Anniversary TTFMs. Thankyou so much Dicky. I am well pleased! smile

Postman Pat said the consignment had stuck to the inside of his bright red van, but Jess spotted it there and made a bit of a fuss until PP understood why.

* It says "With condiments" on the note, but for all I know it could be ricin or anthrax or Novichuck in powder form. Who knows?
I shall snort some later and let you know the results...

Dibble, your perseverance is quite amazing. bow

None of us would have the balls to torment Pushfit to that level. wink
I commend you Sir!

Relatively easy to catch. "Larsens", otherwise known as Danes, are easily baited with some form of cheap spirit, vodka works well as with all Scandinavian species.

In terms of what to do with them when caught, Males are generally good eating, the females are often very attractive and have a wide variety of uses, a bit of a waste to eat them IMO.

Morning all. I’m still resident in the hospital (or “Ozzy”, as the Scousers seem to pronounce it). The hospital are happy for me to go and are chasing the community IV team to take me on. The community IV team “don’t have capacity”. This is where the NHS doesn’t work. I don’t need to be in hospital medically, other than the need for daily IV antibiotics (albeit I’m on 4 lots a day at present, which will go back to 1 a day when I do actually escape). I’m taking up a bed, being fed, being looked after (brilliantly) by the staff. It would be much cheaper for me to be at home, surely? Even if the community team have to come out to administer the drugs?

V6 Pushfit, I’m sorry. I was bored last night (even more so than usual!) so did some shots of the external fixator. Maybe we should name it? I’m open to suggestions, from the sublime to the ridiculous. The halo style frames are known as Ilizarov frames, after their Russian creator. I’m sure there is a brand name for mine, but I’ve no idea what it might be.

Anyway, the pictures. V6, I’m still sorry.

In this one, you can sort of see just how swollen my right leg still is. All my muscles have wasted away quite dramatically (I was never what one could remotely describe as “buff” or “ripped”, but they really have gone to nothing. I’m even having to do exercises for my arse muscles as they, too, have really wasted away. Arse muscles, as in butt cheeks. They are apparently quite important for those little things like sitting, standing up,and walking).

In addition to general swelling caused by fluid build up and post op swelling, there’s a bit of a “spare tyre” effect, as the leg has been shortened by about 4cm. That soft tissue doesn’t just disappear, it just gets compressed and “donuts” outwards. Like my thigh has a rubber ring around it...

What ho Dibble old chap wavey there will also be a certain amount of swelling due to the number of times they've gone in there and messed around with it!!! Good to see the Antibiotics working thumbup

A few years ago I broke a Tib and Fib in a Skiing accident, Things were not going well with the bones Knitting and I ended up going to one of these Homeopath Doctors, turned out I had a Calcium deficiency which the normal Quacks had not spotted, the result after treatment was that the re-braking of the leg and shortening of it (which they had planned to do) was cancelled much to my relief!

However, the thing was I was in a ward with a lot of other nutters who also were in various stages of traction with nuts and bolts through limbs, our and the Nurses entertainment came from Kenny Everett, he had released "Star Trekking across the Universe"
If you can imagine a ward of blokes all trying to swing arms and legs while in traction and plaster it was Hilarious hehehehehehe

It’s quite rare these days to see people in a cast. Either you get plated internally (as I was initially), or external frames/rails are attached. There’s still the odd pot knocking round, but much less than you’d expect, considering I’m on an orthopaedic ward.

I resisted the urge to take a pic of my PICC line earlier (see what I did there?), when they changed the dressing. Although you can now see where it goes into my arm through the new dressing, so there’s always that for V6 Pushfit to look forward to...

I'm at my mum's.

She just said, "Right, my dear, you've had a long day, I'd like you to go to bed."
"Mum, it's half past eight."
"Well, you got up early."
"Yes. I do. Almost every day. But I don't go to bed at half past eight."
"Okay. If you're sure."

I'm sixty four. I can hold out until nine. Maybe a even bit later.

At work, we occasionally make a reagent called DiButyl Ammonium Phosphate, or DBAP for short.

One of my colleagues was using this today.

She kept deliberately pronouncing it in the style of the chorus from the Hanson one-hit-wonder "Mmmbop".

I have consequently had said incredibly irritating song stuck in my head all day.

Said colleague is not in my good books right now.

It's cooling down here a bit, I'm enjoying a Famous Grouse and ginger beer, it's good but not as good as Famous Grouse and Kings Ginger which is downright hilarious when you consider it's 40% for the grouse and 41% for the ginger!!!!! beer

Caterham have made a 7 to capture more of the essence of the Lotus 7.

Hold on a mo. That doesn't look right. The headlights are too small, the wheels aren't correct, the grille is too deep and it appears to have seats.
