He does, or certainly did, quite a lot of cannabis. It was in the papers. Perhaps as a professional courtesy by other journalists he wasn't accused of doing stronger stuff as implied by his Lou Reed T-shirt.

White Light going to my brain
Ooh, doncha know it's gonna make me insane

(They don't write them like that any more.)
I've still got a cassette version of 'White Light, White Heat' knocking around here somewhere, it was one of three cassettes I listened to constantly in my old Rover Cooper Sportpack almost twenty years ago as it didn't have a swanky CD player. The other two were 'Loaded' also by the VU and a very old and scratchy Pete & Dud sketch compilation. It was quite surreal going from feedback laden ditties about shooting up to gafaw inducing skits about drains, Kings Road boutiques and ''your mother is upstairs 'coping' with dirty uncle Bertie'' hehe

This just in from the National Utterley Random Trivia Archive : in 1967 Scott Walker, flushed with royalties from The Walker Brothers final LP and tour splashed out on a brand new Mini 850, a few days later a young female fan tracked down his humble abode in London W2 and promptly smashed every piece of glass on the car, apparently because she didn't like the way he spoke about the other Walkers in an interview. Which was nice. The following year Scott did a typically weird existential interview with Simon Dee (remember him?) on 'Dee Time', BBC management had been wanting to ditch the programme for a while and took the opportunity to sack him, his next 'gig' was playing Michael Caine's camp shirt maker in 'The Italian Job', released in 1969. In 1969 my maternal grandad (a sound recording engineer) did some work for Philips record label and delivered some tapes to the studio where Scott was working on his fourth solo LP, imaginatively titled 'Scott 4'. Can't beat a pointless bit of trivia can you...? wink

Trivia about nonseq.

I have everything recorded by Scott Walker. He can do no wrong. (Well, maybe occasionally by striking a side of lamb as a sound effect).
As in ' I got plenty of Mutton'....etc.
Salut', as old Jackie Brel might say, if he was an Englishman trying to put on a French accent. Even though he was actually Belgian. Do you recall Scott appearing almost out of nowhere in an orange juice TV commercial in the '80s..? I thought I'd dreamt it. 'Angelica' on his first solo LP is pure genius, as is the way it follows on from 'Montague Terrace (In Blue). Perfection captured on tape and then some. I'm convinced the word epic was coined for the stand out tracks on this album, I can't stop listening to it just lately. This might sound odd but even though it was recorded in the Summer of '67 to me it sounds like a 'Winter album' if that makes sense, whereas Sgt.Pepper is lauded as the sound of the Summer of love, when it was recorded mostly in the depths of Winter '66 / '67. The strings and harpsichords on 'Scott' are just beautiful.

Bugger, just been called in to work due to another chap going sick! Ah well, a chance to listen to some Scott on the way down to Oxford... wink

There's a PHSS list going live today for Abarth in Slough.
The Abarth club are only getting 30 spaces to PH getting 150.
They got a heads up about joining here to monopolise the PH list.
I want to see very old cars there not a line of identical 2yo 500s.......irked

Do you really need to go out? It's blowing a bloody hooley out there. There's some tins of evaporated milk in the hangar in a crate beneath the one marked 'Powdered Egg'.

For the sake of us all don't open that one though. I've been saving it in case of, er, emergency. It hasn't been touched since the Gulf war.

Thanks for your kind offer, Bomma, but I was thinking more "milk of amnesia" wink
As for the powdered egg, thanks for the tip.
I'll make sure my tin hat is nailed on securely before scrambling it.

Byee! wavey Catch me later when I get back/down/whatever. Make sure the camouflage nets are deployed for my return.

Golf Romeo Out.

I'd best let the Tower know he's off out, they'll log it as a 'suspicious movement' otherwise.

Camouflage nets? In this bloody weather? grumpy

Even the poor old windsock surrendered this morning. It's currently draped over the back of a sofa in the Residents' Lounge.

Hello Trivia Base:
This is Golf Romeo checking in.

I'm back.
I managed two pints of milk of amnesia at the mission objective ( the Flying Cockroach ) whilst I was there, and then diverted to Aldi and carried another four pints of the semi-skimmed dairy stuff back home with me.
I nearly lost my helmet to the wind a couple of times but luckily the nails held fast.

I think next time it may be best to use some mushroom headed screws and toggle type cavity captive rawlplugs.
And a couple of ratchet tie-down straps for added security..

Just enjoying a cup of strong coffee and then I shall start preparing my dinner.
I have purchased a matching set of pork loin steaks and will get all creative with two of them when Mrs.Robbo has finished doing her veggie stuff with fava beans.

I have potatoes, onions, garlic, mixed peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes and a vast array of herbs and spices just waiting to be creatively melded into a gourmet feast.... And some fresh broccoli*.

There will be some Yumness to be had lick ( I can't afford a Nom! at the moment. frown )

* Also known as "Baby Trees" to the cognoscenti. wink

There's still a bit of a lump there, Bobbers, but don't worry. It's nothing that can't be flattened by a hefty whack with the flat of a trenching tool.
