Any other expectant Dads?
Discussion
Re front seat, I would check the front airbag is turned off and just go with it.
Re sleeping on her front, not exactly what some say is ideal, but if baby can roll onto her back when she wants to then I would not be overly against it. Ours only started sleeping on her front when she could roll herself onto her front, so not much we could do about it!

Anyone done an allergy food trial?
Last set of blood tests came back clear, dreading giving her something she was at risk of anaphylaxis of!
Haven't had one yet but I suspect we will have to have one when she's starting weaning as she's currently diagnosed CMPA so allergic to any dairy or soya that we know of so far via breast milk.Last set of blood tests came back clear, dreading giving her something she was at risk of anaphylaxis of!
On another note and I don't know if this is allowed but I think we are going to have to get rid of our maxi cosi pebble + seat and Base and swap it for a joie 360. H literally hates the car seat and doesn't stop crying in car journeys and I think it's because of her reflux being cramped up is causing her to get reflux and the joie seems to be more up right and comfier.
So if any expectant dads in and around West Yorkshire want a almost brand new seat and Base let me know and I can solely assure you it's been in no accidents, etc.

We've had 7 scans, and abot 50+ overall appointments, and due to various issues the entire thing has been stressful, my partner has been extremely anxious, emotional and even got referred to a psychologist which has been a great help for her to logically work through which aspects are really setting her off and how to cope mentally.
Baby after everything is basically all good (bar a bit of heart trouble which hopefully won't be too bad longterm) and is also now 4 days overdue so I'm a very expectant dad!
Genuinely think for us that coping with a newborn, lack of sleep etc will be easier and we are actually looking forward to it now.
Hope it all goes well for you, it's not easy for everyone and not all women will enjoy being pregnant or be super excited and optimistic from the off. One day at a time and all hat.
Buying nice baby things occasionally (even though we were given tonnes) was probably the biggest comforter for my partner. Made it feel real and like she was doing something nice and positive for baby
Sorry to hear about the difficulties you have both had, I can realte to the stress and anxiety side. Im sure i will feel a big relief once the time comes. Not long for you now, Your on the home stretch !Baby after everything is basically all good (bar a bit of heart trouble which hopefully won't be too bad longterm) and is also now 4 days overdue so I'm a very expectant dad!

Born this morning at 4.29am after first getting in to hospital about 27 hours before in a bit of a panic. My girlfriend starting contracting and bleeding all at once so we went in a tad unprepared and in a rush (having just been settling down to sleep that night) and didnt come out again. She was then induced and heavily monitored that night with various checks. Waters broke about 12am the next morning and constant strong contractions followed for the next 14 hours....
Babies heart needed to be monitored the entire time, due to a known heart condition, and so she had multiple monitors on, none of which seemed to work consistently. The ones of babies head with the hook were particularly useless (possibly due to head swelling as he banged against a fairly resistant cervix).
After many many hours with an oxytocin drip to try to help things along she eventually decided to have an epidural, which worked great, as she'd had no sleep and almost no food for about 24 hours and it was getting unmanageable. At that point they checked again and decided the cervix wasnt as dilated as they'd thought at the last check and was only about 5 cm. And to add to that they discovered he was the wrong way round as well and really wasn't going anywhere fast.
So after a bit the decision was made to have a C Section to keep both of them safe. That was all super efficient and the team were genuinely amazing so although a bit scary it was as good as could be.
He came out screaming and an awesome colour so they didn't even need to check him over at first.
Everything about it didn't quite go to plan from the off but we kind of expected that but we're just happy to have a healthy baby at the end of it. And he's currently sleeping on my chest which is just awesome:
Still got a few things we need to keep an eye on and he's due a heart ultrasound scan tomorrow to see how big his hole is but basically he seems good.

Here's to a lie-in in 10years time!
Our eldest slept through (finally) at 3 1/2. At 6 she will now lie in until 7:30 and then go and play quietly or watch TV... and even get her own breakfast (life pro tip - put a portion of cereal in a covered bowl in a low cupboard, and a small bottle of milk at the bottom of the fridge... our 4 litre bottles of milk are unwieldy and it's a lot to mop up...) Our youngest has never slept through at 2 1/2. Until last night when we had a grown up night out and left them with the babysitter (handily the youngest's key-worker from nursery so no tears...) and she put them to bed. Youngest slept right round from 9pm-6am.
Not great for hangovers but we might finally be getting there.

Amelia was 8 months old a couple of days ago. Time has flew.
She has started to try and sleep on her front even though we have her in a sleepyhead grand.
Nothing to worry about?
Only an issue if she can't roll over unaided. She has started to try and sleep on her front even though we have her in a sleepyhead grand.

Just make sure there's not too much crap in the cot.
We always laid ours on their back, but eventually they'll be able to rollover on their own and sleep on their front.
When they can do that by themselves I believe the danger time has passed, but it still helps not to have lots of stuff in there to allow them to be able to move freely. Burying them in toys, especially when young, is a really bad idea i think.

I have sent this my Mrs as she mentioned car seats this weekend although i think she had decided on the Joie 360 one, we are based in Elland, near HalifaxSo if any expectant dads in and around West Yorkshire want a almost brand new seat and Base let me know and I can solely assure you it's been in no accidents, etc.
Not our pregnancy as such, but my wife's friend due date was tomorrow, but all plans went to pot as she gave birth on her kitchen floor last night. Mother and daughter are perfectly fine and due to return home later today, but Dad is apparently still traumatised / in delayed shock after delivering his daughter in the kitchen. Ha ha ha!

No problem mate if you do want it just PM and happy to meet you half way and exchange and show you how to fit it in & stuff. Also got the waterproof cover for it. We're going to look at the 360 today but only issue I see with it is going places as it's static from what i saw so would have to be transferred into something else which is a bit of a faff when it's pissing it down i can very easily clip it in, get in the car and i'm gone with minimal soaking from the weather. I would love to keep it if it wasn't for her reflux!
Car seat wise, we had Maxi cosi pebble and then joie 360. When they're tiny and you're wanting to carry them around the Pebble was great, could unclip from car, clip into pram and vice versa. (No more than 2 hours at a time in the seat though).
The 360 takes up less room in the car than the pebble+base, however its a heavy thing and is more a permanent fixture to the car (to the point we bought 2, and have one in each of our cars rather than faffing with swapping between).
We also said when we got the 360, we wouldn't want a new born in one. The ability to unclip a seat with a just settled baby in it is very very handy. Shame reflux is forcing your hand.
As for rear / forward facing, I had this "discussion" with the wife. The whole crash into something vs hit in the rear. Ours (jsut over 2) is still rear facing, and I suspect will be until she out grows the seat.

Yeh i literally love the fact that i can unclip the whole seat and just carry it in especially when it's pissing it down! Very annoying that her reflux has twisted our hand. We are lucky in the fact we only have 1 car so swapping isn't an issue. I'm going to get the stage now i can just see it is she's settled in the car and i'm going to have to unclip her and lift her out and wake her ffs!
