At least I was not taken a long to do the "honeymoon" week. Where I hear there was a lot of pressure from outsiders, ie those with a vested fiscal interest in the affair, for the two to get it on Barry White style.

It seems to me that if you don't want crap wedding photographs, first you must not have a crap wedding.

You would think, but crap togs will turn up just about anywhere. Bought a camera for christmas? Then you are now a fully fledged wedding photographer and you too can make the easiest money you ever have made. White Balance? PAh, that is funky lighting so no need to blance your flash or anything else to the primary light source. Shooting in low light? Thats ok, your camera goes to ISO128000 doesnt it, ok it might look like a Cefax photo once out but ah they'll not mind.

Very true. As long as you're not holding your mate's old Sony Ericsson, people seem ready to believe that you're a photographer.

I remember getting back into photography about 9 years back. I bought myself a 350d and it was the other halfs sisters wedding coming up. I'd also quit work to go back to study photography full time as I had the money and wanted to rekindle my love but this time be "educated".

So father of bride finds out I've just bought a camera so I must be a "photographer" and roped me in. Too polite to say no, still better than the Sun's report but I look back with a level of cringe. There I was this poor lad with a camera and announced by Father in law I am a tog. I had the camera a week and had to organise group shots etc and had no crowd control.

Thing is, that sort of st goes on and on and the problem is most people do not realise the shots they have paid for are st. So long as they are hapyp then these fauxtographers will survive because its a rare beast that complains. Typically its the "money" brigade, they will try to screw you over on so much so your clause is simply "I own copyright until you pay".

The best types to work with are upper working, lower middle class. Below or above this good luck. Below the lower marque and you;ll be working in a social club with a bride expecting a billion photos cos thats well expensive innit, also she will be expecting you to be able to present her as fit as a butchers dog rather thas as a butchers dog. Those above the level typically are great fun, I mean some real fun female guests that love a photographer but if a bag of Bolivias finest and girls so easy they may as well be hookers are not your gig then you have to be prepaired for delays in payment etc so you make your clause clear.
