That's the one :-) ! Thank you !!!
You must have been searching too hard (we all do it!), that was the second result when I googled "MTG 4th editions rules" smile
Ok- so having "recovered" my old MTG cards from my parents house- (there were than I remember - probably c1,000, and following a friend of mine saying "you probably want to check the values of the card before letting your 5 year old lose on them".. I spent a little time trying to look up the card values..

Holy molly, I hadn't quite appreciated what had happened to the marker for MTG cards - particularly the older ones from '93/'94...

Turns out I have mixture of 2nd edition "Unlimited" edition, 3rd edition, "Revised", "4th Edition", "Antiquities", "Arabian Nights", "Ice Age", "Dark", "Mirage", "Legends", plus some Fallen Empires/Homelands (which appear to be worth sweet FA)

Whilst the majority are on the order of $0.20-$0.25 value a decent number are in double $ figures values, and some significantly into treble $ values.. !!
The whole lot must be (theoretically) worth well into 4 figures...

Not quite sure what to do now. Not sure I can bothered with the hassle of selling them (I had them for nigh on 30 years already), but neither do I feel "that" comfortable playing with them- now I know what they are worth..

Anyone else found they are sitting on an expected treasure trove of cards?

There's places like Troll Trader that will assess and buy in bulk - you won't get top money but you won't get the hassle either. If you're not into collecting and the rare stuff then you could buy a bunch of current MTG or similar to play with your kids and still have a nice little windfall.

We like playing classic board games in our house - Game of Life, Cluedo, Articulate etc.

However, we went to our friends for the weekend and my mate is a board game "nerd". He ended up persuading me and our kids to play Pandemic which was brilliant.

We then played "Beast" which I thought would be a bit too fantasy for my kids (12,12 and 8) but they absolutely loved it. Played over 4 day turns, one player is the beast and the other players are hunter characters. Set challenges per day etc.

https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/281549/beast - doesn't get amazing reviews but I thought it was good.

I think the family are converted to a higher caliber of board game now hehe so about to pull the trigger on Forbidden Island...

Is Disappearing Island the Forbidden Island?

I have a German copy of that if so. The cooperative one where the island floods?
Sorry, yep! Just played our first game - cheated a little to help the kids (honest!) yet still lost...

Enjoyable though, our first cooperative game and it's a nice change.
Forbidden Island was my first coop game and it's a good game to try as something different to the usual. Yet to attempt the hardest level.

We got introduced to saboteur last month on holiday. It plays better with a big group but is great fun. I ended up ordering the anniversary edition which had just come out as soon as I got back.

Just been to GameExpo at the NEC - found out about it last night when an old friend posted on FB to say he was taking the kids, so grabbed 2 tickets and met him there.

Best bits for me were the try-out tables - LOADS of them, well staffed by volunteers to help explain the games to you and a great way to try-before-you-buy, and the "Bring and Buy" 2nd hand sale, which I found out on entry was cash only...probably for the best as I still spent a little over £100, but I came away with:-
- Catan
- Quacks of Quedlinburg
- Terraforming Mars
- Century Spice Road
- Throw Throw Avocado, still shrink-wrapped (my lad's been after it since Christmas)

...which I consider a cracking haul, and in essence paid for our tickets and parking.

There were a handful of talks and demos going on as well, a LOT of trade stalls unsurprisingly, and for a Friday felt very very busy - not just with the D&D neckbeard brigade and the cosplayers, but with run of the mill folks too.
