yes, this has been my primary issue.

Had it after my first jab, was no use for anything at work the next day. Due to this the second jab I moved to a friday PM, again the saturday and sunday I couldn't focus. My booster was scheduled for dec 23rd, I didn't attend cos I didn't want to ruin my christmas day.

Day 4 or 5 after testing positive I got fed up sitting in the house so went out a drive one night. It was like I was on auto pilot. Headed straight back home after realising this.
That's an appropriate username

Good to know it's not just me. LFT now shows positive again :-/

I know Omicron is supposed to be mild but it's really knocked me out.

My first symptom was earache 9 days ago (Sunday) and began to have a severe cough, fatigue, fever, muscle pains and loss of taste/smell on Bank Holiday Monday. I tested negative on an LFT but emailed work and said I'd be off for a few days and might have Covid. That night I was almost hallucinating with high temperature and didn't sleep at all. I tested positive on an LFT the next morning but still thought it would just be a few days of a bad cold.

A week later and I've managed to get out of bed a few times and only just starting to cough less and not be drowning in mucus. Muscle aches and fever have abated but I'm still feeling like I've had a lobotomy. The brain fog and waves of tiredness are still present and I'm bracing myself for the likelihood that I won't be back at work until next Monday at the earliest. This will be the longest I've ever been off work in 35 years. I've had measles, chickenpox, pleurisy, mumps, noro virus and influenza - all of which have been a walk in the park compared to "mild omicron"!

Day 5 for me, symptoms (cold like) have mostly cleared, then the weirdest thing happened this evening.

Fell asleep, had a weird dream that a rotten corpse (Michael Jackson!) walked past me and it smelt like the most awful thing I've ever smelled in my life. Woke up and now everything, absolutely everything, smells just like it did in that dream.

The smell is absolutely vile, hard to explain but something like a hot, sour garbage dump (but really, really sour) gets close. Even sniffing my own skin 'activates' it.

Any thoughts on this…

My wife has tested positive for Covid - she is recovering from cancer and a hospital test flagged up that she has it. Symptoms are moderate cold and she is now improving so no big deal

I started with symptoms of a mild cold yesterday and my resting heart rate is sat at 61 versus the usual 46/47

I’ve done a couple of lateral flow tests over the last 2 days as I need to visit my elderly father in law* and I’m showing as negative.

Am I likely positive and just not throwing up a positive test or am I likely to have something else?

  • I’m trying to sort someone to visit the in law for his care needs but not having a lot of success so trying to weigh up the risk of me going versus leaving him for a few days
Thanks

Similar story here, my wife and son had it a few weeks back, my symptoms (including raised heart rate) started towards the end of my wife having it, but it was 4-5 days before I actually tested positive, then I went downhill pretty quickly from that point in terms of tiredness and flu like symptoms.

My heart rate on my Garmin has tracked it pretty much perfectly, it's gradually settling back down towards normal now.

I'm now on day 10 and still testing positive!

Yes, you are likely to be positive.

When I had it, the increased RHR was one of the few signals that I had caught it.

The raised heart rate and it feeling a bit more
‘thumpy’ sometimes was a symptom I had also.

Does go away eventually but some symptoms seem to hang around a fair while after you feel fine otherwise.

Thanks all - appreciate the responses.

I’ll keep out of the way of my father-in-law for a while then and look at spring home some home help in the mean time

As you all predicted, I’m now testing positive

Any thoughts on this - our 13 year old tested positive in March. Is he likely to get it again so soon?

Day 12, finally tested negative and now have a slightly tight chest and mildly annoying difficulties breathing. Nice smile The gift that keeps on giving!

My wife started to fell ill on Saturday and it quickly became debilitating, which is most unlike her; sore legs and body, sickness and nausea, and extreme tiredness. She tested positive this morning, having managed to evade covid from the beginning (that she is aware of).

She is the only person who can do payroll for 150 people (her assistant is still to be trained up), so she had to shuffle out of bed this morning to get it done, not helped by the fact our energetic Vizsla ripped his dewclaw off yesterday and is proving to be a handful. To cap it all, I fell ill over night and have struggled to get out of bed, although I’m testing negative.

I’ve tested positive for the second time, first time was July last year. I only did a test as a mate of mine who I’ve been to Spain with for the weekend was complaining of symptoms, he was negative!

I don’t feel too bad at the moment, just a mild cough and sore throat, I think it will get worse before it gets better though.

I assume I caught it in the gym last week but since then I’ve been on a flight to Alicante and then the return, plus visiting several drinking establishments, in taxis, transfer buses etc, all with no social distancing. I hope EasyJet clean their planes as well as they say or else I’ll be responsible for a superspreader event!

Positive test for me yesterday...went straight to positive as well, almost before the control line could form!

Went into work Tuesday. Bloke I was working with in the same room tested positive that evening
I started feeling a bit weird on Thursday. Sort of like when you're getting a cold
By Friday I had a sore throat, and lacked my usual energy
Sore throat turned to feeling like I had sandpaper for a throat, continued sat/sun, plus lacking energy (but still out and about)
Today still sore throat. Now taking it easy and just feel a bit 'meh'.

You will.
Not sure.

I was reading about blood types being a major issue in getting it.

My brother's partner and son both got it, he never has.

My mates have got it, me never.

I've had 4 jabs and take immune suppressants and overweight. I've still go out. I worked pretty much through lockdown.
My wife has had it three times, and despite not keeping my distance from her (still slept in same bed, but avoided kissing) I never caught it from her. So I just assumed I was too dominating for the 'rona to get me (and I'm unvaxxed). Then I spend a day in the office with a colleague...and I get it!
It's weird. Doesn't make sense.

In a glass, with hot water, lemon juice and whisky.
