Possible first operation

So, for the first time in almost 32 years on the planet, I'm likely to be having minor surgery tonight.

After severe abdominal pain last night (barely slept a wink) I soldiered into work this morning before deciding, after an hour, that the pain was too much. My mom picked me up (wife looking after the halfPints') and brought me in. Turns out it's likely appendicitus (sp?).

Just waiting to be wheeled into surgery. All is not bad... They've got me on morphine.
Never been cut open before, even keyhole.

If it is what they think, they've said I won't be driving for 6 weeks.
Oh well, just thought I'd share.

Well, many hours later and they've not yet sliced me open, although I've been told it'll be keyhole surgery. Apparently they were waiting to see if I improved. Typing this using the stty bedside keyboard / internet things and it's fking pain. takn me 25 minutes just to do this!

They let me lick a slice of toast this morning and a couple of cuppas. if i don't make it, it'll be the starvation that killed me

Well I'm back at home, sans appendix. A bit uncomfortable but generally ok. Although the first time I needed the bog was a whole new experience.

Healing enough to get a bit of "tender time" with Mrs Pints last night.

The last time I had something done, the sedation didn't sedate me and the local didn't fully numb me- I don't think anyway

I certainly wasn't awake for mine. The last thing I remember were the lights in the room as I was being wheeled in and wondering when they were going to ask me to start counting.
