Looking at that table (on the previous page) I can't help but notice that ascaymans achievement is nicely framed by pommy's own prowess this week. hehe

Only ribbing ya pom. wink

This week also has a couple of double games (Brighton & Cardiff both have two games) as is GW35 with multiple double games - have we already forecast those?
The forecasts I currently hold are for:

Brighton v Cardiff
Man Utd v Man City
Watford v Southampton
Wolves v Arsenal
Tottenham v Brighton

Of those the Brighton game is next Tuesday and I'll include it in the table I produce on Wednesday morning.

On another note I notice that spaces are beginning to creep back into your forecast postings guys.

The spreadsheet can't cope with these and will return 0 points even if you get the correct scoreline.

The last 2 posts (Dan and JwVw) have them.

Check your posts please. As before I can't adjust afterwards.

Edited to remove spaces gadget.
Ok. thumbup

I don’t normally notice them anymore but yours and Dan’s were on the very first line of your forecast scores.

Lenandsons: You've got a space after your first forecast as well! nuts

As the three people with spaces all predicted 1-1 I think a bit of copying has gone on. biggrin

Ok, seriously, I'm picking this up because on the first line it's obvious. Going forward my post on page 21 sets out the consequences so please check your spacing.

Cheers.

First of all I’m glad to hear you are OK Jiffle...that’s the MOST IMPORTANT thing here. This is just a little bit of fun on a Friday.

Address to the competitors.

Second, my problem here is consistency. frown

I’ve disallowed forecasts before for late entries and those players on here who were on the receiving end of my stubbornness in the past will not be happy bunnies as they all said at the time that they too were late for a reason albeit not that they were hurt.

I’m sensitive to the accusations that, even though they may not be articulated, will be in those players minds if I allow this. Lets not forget over the last few seasons I’ve also removed people from the game completely who’ve failed to stick to the rules.

I’m also aware that if I don’t give you some leeway that it could be construed that I’m being particularly harsh because you are my nearest competition at this point in the season. I also want to win this fairly and squarely or else it would be a somewhat hollow victory should it come to pass.

What the hell am I supposed to do? weeping

If I allow it this time what happens the next time somebody is a minute late...or maybe 5 minutes late because they had to cook their kids dinners when the wife was taken ill etc etc etc.

This puts me in an impossible situation. I’d love to let it slip by but it fks me for the future if I do, even though its only 1 small minute late. frown

I’m seriously torn here. I’m damned by some if I do allow it and I’m damned by others if I don’t.

Suggestions on how to solve this brexit-like dilemma please.

Seriously though...I don’t think I can allow it to stand for the reasons I’ve detailed..which upsets me more than a bit due to the circumstances. frown

There’s only one way I can countenance this.

I will need all of the remaining 16 participants (Myself, Jiffle, PHuzzy and GTO-3R don’t count) to voice their approval as I can’t have even one person who I may have been strict with on a prior occasion feeling I’ve shown favouritism or that they have been treated unfairly in comparison to Jiffle.

There must be no pressure applied to anyone to vote “yes”, they must post their approval of their own accord having read the thread. When all 16 have said yes I’ll add in Jiffle’s points which I’ll store for 2 weeks from today which is the deadline. Any no shows will be deemed to be a ‘No’ vote as that person doesn’t want to say ‘no’ and appear to be the kill joy but they may have had to suffer my insistence on adherence to the rules themselves.

No reminding people to vote as that is pressure, no making lists as that also highlights who hasn’t voted and is a form of pressure, they do it because they want to do it. I will keep a list on the spreadsheet and you can keep your own private list if you like. Needless to say those who’ve indicated approval have been noted already.

This is the only way I can be sure nobody is hiding any resentment if I allow Jiffle’s scores. I can also be reached via PH’s email system if you have a point to make privately.

Thank you.

At Gadgets request, I would allow it. I certainly would allow it in the CL thon... and have done.

I like the cut off time to prepare the scores etc - however as long as no games have kicked off, I am very laid back on that timing issue.
Which is fine as no precedents have been set in the CL thon. Unfortunately they have in this competition both this season and in previous seasons.

Brabus (above) is one of the people I have to consider here. He suffered as a consequence of my insistence on rules being adhered to as have a few others. But if everyone is happy to allow it this time then so be it.

As they are all being played within the next 8 days here’s a quick reminder of the forecasts I have stored for you.

The Brighton vs Cardiff game is this evening and I will feed this into tomorrows table together with the fixtures played last weekend.

The other 4 games are all next Tuesday and Wednesday.

Sincere apologies Gadget for not forecasting the last round was travelling with two kids from Southampton - Birmingham - London and then on to Canada.
No problem. Your explanation is appreciated. I’ll have to check the spreadsheet to see if that takes you over the 3 permitted absences.

Again, thanks Lenandsons.
