So Hendo doubles down and says his move to Ajax is a 'football decision' - nothing to do with crap football quality, mostly empty stadiums, overbearing heat, completely different lifestyle so on and so forth - which he might have known had he not chased the cash blindly...

Really, every time this clown opens his mouth it just gets worse.

Southgate will still pick him though.......

There are rumours that the muppet also deferred his salary for first 6 months when he signed, so he might not even see any of that money that he chased........laugh
Which might explain the Saudi's club statement that his exit deal was financially advantageous to them laugh

Which really would prove he's a thick as mince.

If he has done that, then he truly is a world class numpty.
If he had just said up front 'its a great opportunity for a sack of cash' then no one would have given two sts about him going there lol

Did he mention if he had managed to change the Saudi's attitudes to homosexuality? I presume quitting early means he solved the issue.

Must be lol

Obviously the 'project' went well and his arrival there sparked a millennia old behaviour to be revoked and they are all women are now wearing daisy duke shorts and Wetherspoons has opened on every high street.

If Southgate picks him then Southgate needs to go too. Not for any of the reasons involving Saudi, but what the bloody hell is Jordan Henderson doing anywhere near the England squad with the players available now?

So it's the transfer window again and no one is talking about the Saudi Arabian leagues buying up all the players like last year?

Was this just a one off last year for them to get some recognition or are they just bored of trying to buy football and moving on to something else?

Unless mistaken, I haven't heard of any bids from Saudi Arabia for premier league players this window.

As I understand it, they do have rules around number of non Saudi players, and as they hoovered up a lot of the chafe around the edges last year they are now stuck with them on contracts. No one is going to buy them back unless the players take substantial pay cuts, so its a bit of a dead end there now.

As expected, the league hit its ceiling quickly, lots of end of career players getting a pay out who dont care, or some that didn't realise what the middle east was like because they are thick as pig st and ended up taking financial hits to get out.

Can anyone here honestly say they are tuning in to Saudi matches to watch them regularly? Given that the PL has umpteen more talent in each team than the Saudi ones?

Having a quick look and all the transfers recently are all between clubs in the league, and the only big one is Diaby from Villa.

To Codel's point, they have made the intial investment a few seasons ago and now they are limited due to the number of non-saudi players allowed in each squad.
