Having read the texts I think it is a big fuss about very little, not the cleverest texts to send but they were to a friend and were never meant to be seen by anyone else.
Why would someone at Cardiff decide to go through all the texts sent, 10,000 going by what has been reports, and how did they get all those texts ?

What, and that makes it all right does it? I think the fuss is warranted, not a pleasant character if that's what he says in his private life. I for one hope he never gets a job in football again.Looking past the fact that this all broke as almost certainly as a vendetta by Vincent Tan, I have just seen an interview this morning by Mackay where he says he is not a racist.
I am sorry but you aired privately probably something you would never dare say publicly, is simply a reflection of your personal thoughts and feelings. What he said wasn't even said in a the context of a joke - not that it would have lessened the impact of the words. His PR mission this morning to come across as an honest decent guy was a thinly veiled attempt to rebuild his future prospects as a football manager in a highly lucrative sport. Plain and simple.

If the the texts were sent to a 'mate', then how how are they now public?
Said 'mate' would now be receiving a visit!
My understanding is someone at Cardiff FC read through 10,000 texts sent from or to McKay's phone, and found three texts which have offensive (to some) content.Said 'mate' would now be receiving a visit!
The question how did they become public is a very good one.

Of course Tan had a vendetta, have you seen what Mackay and Moody called him? I think he's entirely within his rights to blow his career up. Just an unbelievable story.

What did the text messages say?
Alledged •"He's a snake, a gay snake. Not to be trusted." Referring to an official at another club.
•"Not many white faces amongst that lot but worth considering." Referring to a list of potential signings.
•"Go on, fat Phil. Nothing like a Jew that sees money slipping through his fingers." On football agent Phil Smith.

How did they have access to these? Personal or work mobile?

jokes are one thing but those are not jokes. The issue of private is something totally different
Nothing you send on a work owned mobile is privateHe sent racist and offensive texts on a work mobile. That makes him stupid as well as probably racist/homophobic/sexist.
