Tools, tools and more tools..

Not really sure if anyone can assist but worth a shot.
My father has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. So, in an effort to "sort things out" whilst he is still kicking around (after being forcibly signed off sick from work) he's had all his tools delivered - so we can get rid of them for the cash!
Little problem - Dad has been an engineer all of his life, working on some pretty sizeable projects. His tools were delivered in a lorry, and I'd estimate he has two 6-foot tall cabinets full of spanners, wrenches, sockets - all sorts of crazy crap. Every single one is either Britool or Snap-on ("cause he didn't want to have to buy two of them if he went cheap and broke" apparently) including both the 6 foot cabinets. Thousands of tools in mint condition.
But. I haven't the foggiest as to how or where to get rid of them. I'm not mechanically minded at all, and they are incredibly heavy so I don't know if something like ebay would work.
Any suggestions?
