So, I've had a nice cup of tea, and certainly nothing else.

Thats not the right colour for a cup of tea.

Br d - fixed that for you …. wink. You’re excused if that’s a continental tea bag (always take your own for a good cup of tea)

For reference - here’s the Yorkshire Tea chart (I’m a Numpty man myself … wink
I do bring my own teabags, and I bought that mug cos they have those pissy little cups here that don't hold a mouthful.

When I got here yesterday they brought me to the room, which was lovely, and while the girl is doing the speil she looked down and there was a handbag on the floor, it had passport, purse everything. But the room had been cleaned so she's going "Well I don't know how this got here"

So I said "Do you be another room ready?"
I wasn't being snotty but I was knackered and wanted to crash and just couldn't be bothered with any ag of somebody having left anything else in there and coming back for it.

The point was that the rooms all have these coffee machines now, I don't drink coffee and can never work out how to just get hot water. This room however had a kettle, cool!

So she shows me to the alternate room, I say thanks. Get up half hour later to make tea and no kettle! Just another fecking impenetrable coffee machine.
I had to call reception for instructions.

The universe is telling you that you need to start drinking coffee yes
I honestly can't stand it Jim, don't even like the smell.
If I'm ever working very early somewhere - like West London - and there's only a Starbucks open I can't sit in it, it makes me nauseous.

Re-reading Skeptist post again, so the limit on all Swiss passes is 50 mph!

Those crappy videos I put up were on Swiss passes.

Jesus if there's radars anywhere near there they'll throw the key away.

It is depressing that switzerland has the best scenery and some of the best roads in the world and yet the most ludicrous rules anywhere. I'm not saying you should be allowed to do what you like but 50 mph?

Even when I went passed that Swiss speedcheck (which I slowed right down for) I think I was doing more than 80kph.

I forgot to get my vignette this year though, wasn't deliberate I just realised yesterday I hadn't bought one. I'm not going back into Switzerland again now so that's 40 quid I've saved from the 4 million pound fine and 20 years imprisonment I'm likely to get.

It is a stunningly beautiful place but at 50 mph it's probably not worth doing a driving trip to. I've been going there for years and didn't realise it was that bad.

Don't leave it late to do the Grossglockner. You'll wonder why you bothered as it gets busy.
Alright Mr PG.

Just found it on Google, first review "An absolute must for anyone on a motorbike"!

But yeah, looks like a bit of me, it's an hour 40 from here.

If I have a few sensible ones of these...

...a bit of grub and a nice early night, I will head out there tomorrow morning.

If however, as I suspect, I have 97 of these and forget my second name I probably won't make it.

But your recommendation is appreciated!

Great thread as usual! Love to viscerally enjoy your sportscar, mountain pass, restaurant, beers, music and random naughtiness. Must get off my **** and do this myself before - like so many fun things in life - it's forever banned.

Anyway... quick question. Don't recall reading that you received your passport/registration/papers back or did I miss that bit...?
That was what was in that nice little handbag the previous hotel had forwarded for Brad.
Sorry guys thought I'd covered this.

Yeah, got to the Nouvi, asked if the parcel had arrived and of course blank looks. Lots of shrugging. The reception staff milled about for 5 minutes but I had confirmation from the Mont Blanc that it had got there.
Eventually a young girl came into the back office and knew about it, went straight to the post room and got it, everything recovered.

I got lucky actually because the borders in the Alps are rarely strict however as I came into Italy they were stopping cars. I was in the queue thinking "Oh st". They pulled a coach to the side before me but when I got there the young border guard just stared at the car for about 10 seconds then waved me on.

Bit of a squeaky bum moment cos I had no ID whatsoever.

All good now though, I'm a person again.

/And my swimming goggles were in there too, must've left them in a drawer or something.

I was in a different bar earlier near the pool and there were some exceptionally lovely young ladies there.

They had no lager though so I've come to a different bar where its just me.

That's a bit worrying isn't it.

If I'm still breathing next year I will defo get more technical.
I'll get a go pro, a new drone, all that stuff. Even a guitar system I can run an output from so I can actually play you something. I mean I'm not Eddie van Halen or Tommy Emmanuel or anything but for all you guys know I'm just totally bullstting that I can even play.

I will probably still have this 720 cos I just bought it (and I don't like the Italian stuff at the moment, I mean, how fking boring are current ferraris? And you have to suck the dealer principles cock to get one. I do love that Lambo Evo thing, saw one when I picked up this car, its insane looking, but it was like 450 grand or something. Not ready to spend that sort of money yet, and it's still slower than my car, everything is slower than this car, until you get over a million quid or something. And I'm stuck in these brackets, I can't get out now, I'm resigned to it. Did you notice this is the post where I'm now clearly drunk?)

and I really like it!

Lol!

You see how this works?

I've been in this bar alone for 3 hours, literally the only person here spending money, quite happily drinking and minding my own business.
Barman loved me, "Another drink sir?"

Now it's suddenly filled up with families and I'm getting the looks.
Admittedly I did just stagger slightly when I got up to go to the toilet and I am the only person in here with headphones rocking to my music but we've all been there right?

I think they're pissed off cos I got the best seats. Sneaky pic.

You sir are a genius!

Got a tagliatelle and some parsley potatoes coming.
I'm clearly drunk but if I'm eating I'm legit.

It'll be here.

At some point.

Mate! That was lush.

Young couple just sat down next to me giving me so many sideways looks. Finished the food, bopping away to Dancing with Myself the whole time I'm eating!

Finger up for another beer, barman knows what I want.

I should probably go.

Ess av T.

So that's pretty cool. I've sat there the whole day drinking, barman has been really lovely, just doing a good job.

I stagger up to pay last thing, he prints out the bill and says "You have a lovely car, I love so much your car"

"Wait, what? How do you know that's my car?"

"From your name"

Bloke gets a 20 euro tip! Just for being nice.

Milk for tea man!

Sorry guys, not much happening.

Pretty much the same story as yesterday, into town, good food then back to the hotel. Fell asleep for the afternoon then back to the bar.

I would normally do more than this but my dear old Mum is a bit under the weather. Sister is looking after her and I think she's okay but I need to be constantly in signal in case she needs me.

It's great driving out to the mountains but often I can't get a connection.

She's had some blood tests and we will get the results on Friday.
They suspect under active thyroid, she's sleeping all the time.
Tomorrow I'm supposed to be heading to Munich for a 4 day stay but I'll call my skin in the morning and if she has any concerns I'll just drive up as far as I can go without falling asleep. Could probably get back to England by Friday night.

David - the hotel guy who was thrashing the car in the garage - is off duty and just bought me a beer! Very nice of him.
Really good people here.

There is an art exhibition being set up in the hotel, I will try to get pics although I'm clueless. The three people who set it up worked really hard today to get it ready, just been chatting to them, hope it's a success.

Bar's stone empty.

Just me drinking again!

I have had a constant companion on this journey though.
A fly.

The fker turns up the second I sit down to eat.
He's been with me since Dijon, crawling over my butter in Italy, climbing in the wine bottle in Switzerland and defacating on my pasta in Austria. Bless him.

I'm vegetarian but believe me I'm going to kill this fker before I leave Europe.

I know McLaren get a lot of stick from some on here but I think the 720 looks better than any of the current Ferraris and is pretty much perfect in the blue you have chosen.

Oddly the Kiwis seem more “patriotic” than the Brits as here in Auckland I see more McLarens and AMs than Ferraris and Lamborghinis.
I know it's very contentious and obviously everything I say can be safely ignored but I really don't like modern Ferraris, I don't trust their reviews or their specs either. Everything is a product I know but I think they've climbed up their own ahole a bit too much, they've become almost beyond criticism and that can't be good.

McLaren's can be a bloody nightmare but nobody's covering it up or pretending there aren't problems, in fact I think it probably goes too far in the other direction.
I've always been open about the issues involved with McLaren ownership, always been honest about the fk ups, it's one reason I never joined the owners club (plus I don't have Facebook). But when you're on it in a McLaren it really is special. Nothing else like it.

I do love AM's, they look amazing but they just aren't on the performance edge enough.

And Lamborghini are just Lamborghini you know. Good and bad, you just have to have that attitude!
