This thread is exactly why I prefer to own a car than lease it.
(Rentals for work - organised by them - are ok though! wink
To be honest I thought I'd covered *everything*; car photoed from every angle (outside the receiving dealership), close up of every panel, roof, every wheel and tyre (to show tread), interior, odo, engine bay etc etc. Everything except the spare wheel rolleyes

It doesn't put me off, it's a case of "live and learn" and I won't bugger that one up again.

I was in fact pretty well covered as the receiving dealer had done the inspection note above and he's sorting it for me. Just very annoying.

Yup - it was a bit of a no-brainer for commuting instead of using an SL500.

Seriously though - great little car, really liked it.
There's no bloody way I'm getting stung for it - I've really looked after it and been paranoid about the slightest mark on it (to the extent that the windscreen was replaced because of a chip). They can take me to a small claims court if they're so minded.
But you only did 17,000 miles in the thing. Is that really enough to justify the monthly payments etc? Wouldn't you have been better just using (and enjoying!) a lovely car that the SL500?!

When I worked for Ford a spare wheel was an £80 option, you got a tyre fix and inflation kit as standard.

If we had a car in stock someone wanted but they wanted a wheel (happened occasionally) we'd just swap the inflation kit with a wheel in a stock car that had it.

Maybe it's the same at Citroen and someone didn't realise it would be an issue with the lease company.

Either way, if the finance company nominated the dealer to collect the car then it's between them ultimately I'd have thought.
