RE: Wolf of Wall Street Countach to be sold at auction
Discussion
Coincidentally, the other Countach used in the film for the non-crashing scenes is also being auctioned a couple of weeks after this one.

Assuming the car was acquired for the film around 2012, and being a USA spec 25th anniversary car, I suppose it didn't cost that much really at the time in terms of a Hollywood film budget. Probably not much more than having a convincing replica built would have done.
Never the less a shame to destroy the car like that. I'm sure it's worth a lot more than a smashed up Countach that hasn't been in film, but surely not as much the auction estimate is suggesting.

So you purchase this wreck for stupid money and then do what with it??????????????
The same thing people do with all move memorabilia - put it in a room and look at it, because that's what they enjoy.Water Fairy said:
Stick it in a dehumidified garage just like any other pointless garage queen? It won't be driven just all the other pointless crap people covet.
The world would be a pretty miserable place if we didn't have that "pointless crap" though, wouldn't it?rodericb said:

The Anniversary is a pig of a Countach, but a real shame it's in that state. Silly money too.
The bits which make them 25th Anno is all stick on tat yeah? I imagine this will end up in a film cars type museum, repairing it would devalue it, its value, if the guide price is to be believed is from its use in the Wolf of Wall Street which was a pretty big film.
As a working Countach Anniversary, sure plenty would love it but they are a bit overblown compared to earlier models and there are still plenty about (relatively) if you want one and can afford it, not something I would be after if my numbers came up but it was absolutely the correct car for that film, 80s excess personified.
So if you have such a museum would be a good addition, we still miss "Cars of the Stars" in Keswick, went twice with the kids but it was closed and all the cars by and large went to US museums.
Pretty cool they wrecked a real one, shows how big the budgets are, five Testarossas were purchased and variosly wreck and cannibalised for a film call "Infinite" with Marky mark Wahlberg in that sank without trace, Gas Monkey Garage owner Richard Rawlings bought them all

So one Countach on a massive movie like WOWS is not a big deal if they can wreck five Testarossas on a Turkey like that and if you weigh it up millions of people enjoyed seeing that Countach get mangled, where otherwise most of them end up largely unused in "collections", not into wrecking stuff for the sake of it but I think it was justified, and loads will likely file past it in a museum.

So Schmee crashes a Senna and ruins its value
Shmee's Senna has been for sale for the last 6 months for £660k. I believe the new price was £750k, so his has indeed taken a hit - small pun intended. It's the cheapest Senna on the market, but also the highest mileage (4000 miles). The ad makes no reference to any damage (nor does it have to - it wasn't written off after all) but it's probably the best known Senna out there.thegreenhell said:
