One guy used to get up at 2 am to move his car to a 'better' position when the neighbour left for his shift and vacated a more satisfactory spot.
That's a bit sad!! rofl
Yes.He was an ex policeman and he had a beard.
My Sister used to stay in a block of flats that had parking at the rear with no designated spaces. One Guy had to have the closest space, if he couldn't park there he would go off on one & even park his car on the Grass to be the closest if someone had dared park in it ! This would have been one for buying a Car just to leave in said space smile

not ideal..some strange folk about..Maybe narrow it down to properties that take the Daily Mail?!..

if it was me I would park my car in the same spot again and sit up and observe for an evening..maybe take it in turns with a mate for an hour or so when you both have nothing on..and just see who goes near, looks at it or worse..maybe not actionable but at least if you let them know you know they may desist in future..

lowest of the low interfering with another mans motor..

Hire a skip, Write HA HA on the side facing the houses. VBRJ, smash there back doors in with a can of redbull e.t.c.
You may be writing that in jest but a mate of mine has done almost exactly this.

He lives in a little cottage in the pennines. Bloke in the house next door is a proper whinging busybody - arguments have got a bit out of hand in the past and have involved the police being called.

There's a field behind the houses which is where the living rooms look out onto, these are owned by another mutual friend who keeps sheep on them. All in all it's a lovely view out towards Saddleworth moor. Except it isn't for my mates neighbour, as there is a big fk off steel container unit in the way, strategically placed in the field right outside his patio windows. It's luminous, day-glo orange. Blokey can complain all he wants, as said box can remain there for a certain number of months before needing to be moved. Unfortunately it doesn't say how far it has to move. Consequently it hasn't moved very far at all. I'd forgotten all about it til I walked past the other day. Perhaps a bit harsh..... biggrin

Therein lies your culprit.

Get two mates (let's call them Starsky & Hutch), who would be happy for some beer money to park up further down the road, out of view of the flats' windows to stakeout your car over a late evening or two.

Seriously.

Park your car in the same space as it was damaged then knock on people's doors and ask if it is THEIR car, as soon as you find the person who is particularly annoyed an may even confess that your car has been winding them up then you can...... deal with them like an adult/report them to the police/burn them at the stake.

That's a good idea but I'm not sure why you would need to be naked. Each to their own I guess...

your car has already gained some scratchs. It's not shiny any more.

Id keep parking there and let it gain some more.

Only have a few cctv cameras wired up inside it, subtly.

Gain video of the 'perp' in the act. Then,

a) copy and distribute this widely around the estate.
b) take them to small claims for a respray
c) whilst they are at court get a mate to stick spagetti into their locks.

and most importantly

d) keep parking there. Its now your space!

My next door neighbour called 999 about a car left outside her house for two days. It belonged to family of the house opposite, who were staying around while the mum was in hospital having an operation on her leg.
She actually called an emergency number to complain about a car parked completely legally, and she doesn't even drive! She was incensed that the Police refused to do anything about it, and has vowed to write to our MP.

She told me all this while I was writing a note to put on a car that had been parked directly across my driveway for three or four days. Luckily I commute by bike, but I needed to get the car out to go to the shops. She saw me put the note on the car, and advised me to "let his tyres down" as well. How that is supposed to help the owner move the car I don't know.

Knock on every door.
This.

I had trouble with a neighbour and I didn't know which one.

When I then had a break in I went door to door asking if anyone had seen anything.

All were very helpful and friendly except one.

When you do it, it will be very obvious who it is.

People are very odd about parking - like most PHers, I couldn't give a stuff who parks outside my house, so long as I can get on and off the drive.
I've had arguments with one of Woman's neighbours, where his argument for me not parking opposite his gates was that "if my wife reverses out and hits your car, it's better that she would hit mine". My reply of "if she reverses into two tons of silver Vauxhall, she probably should look where she's reversing" didn't go down too well.

Joking aside I would be tempted to buy one of those discreet cameras and leave it in the car. Park in the same spot and bide your time til the concrete evidence falls into your lap.

Definitely let the police know.

We had a car keyed from front to back and let the police know. They didn't do anything apart from give us a crime number but they did ask if we'd had a falling out with anyone (we hadn't) wheras your stuation might be different.

defo worth letting them know, in case anything further happens.
