If they put the parent&child spaces at the back of the car park then I'd probably refrain from using them. As it is, they always seem to be placed at the entrance to the store.....

Why exactly should people without children have to walk further than people with children? More often than not the parents using these spaces do not actually need them anyway, if your child is no longer in a full car seat or is capable of ejecting themselves from their seat then the extra wide parking space is not needed.

But you're right, there are often disabled spaces free when all the parent and child spaces are full.

I suspect that's because so many more people have children than disabilities. People who have children are a huge majority and they are unfairly represented with special parking spaces.

What car parks should have is a majority of parent and child parking, with some disabled spaces near the door and a few spaces for barren childless husks at the back.

Or maybe all disabled people and we parents should be forced to use online, we do, leaving the supermarkets for the single and childless to shop?
