she does have a point. I would tend to drive on whichever lane has the smoothest tarmac. Sometimes its the far left lane, sometimes it isn't.

As explained, there are good reasons why you could be driving in the middle lane but plod won't care about that. They'll just issue the fine as they will assume you're trying to make an excuse and won't accept it.

Consistently the second highest circulation after the Sun. I suppose it was worth a punt. I actually can't read so I don't buy a newspaper.

The reason I have this opinion is actually because I feel as though it isn't a problem which requires a solution. At the same time they were talking about doing people for incorrect following distances as well. These are just made-up offences, a bit annoying, but by no means an infringement of any of the 10 commandments. The Americans say 'to protect and serve' - we don't have the same slogan but it would still be reasonable to ask how we see policing of these matters fitting into the remit?
