Anyone have any experience of owning one of these (100 HP obviously), with a newborn baby? Are they big/practical enough? Can you get a pushchair in the boot?

The 100hp is supposed to be a bit bouncy, so you might end up with sick on the seats.

Cheers EDLT. I really want to get one of these for the other half to keep for a few years, so trying to plan ahead!

(you are not helping my case!)

Possibly both!

2nd kid due to arrive imminently, so OH is upsizing from a Seicento to a Panda.

Congratulations! If you have got away with a Seicento for your firstborn then I'll have no worries in a Panda...apart from the sick on the seats from the ride...I think I can live with that.

2 Star Euro NCAP for child safety.

Reasonably brutal on the kids at 0:25 seconds.

Eeew..yes, worth bearing in mind - thanks for that. Only saving grace is I live on IOW so I doubt we'll be aiming for any speed records.

What would worry me in your position is the tiny (but real) chance that an idiot (whether drunk, unobservant, asleep) might pile into the back of the Panda, having seen some of the people driving big 4x4's or even as earlier today, an S-type, how is the Panda going to hold up against these. Not well is my gut instinct, personally I would be wanting to put more space & metal between my progeny and everyone else - it's sad but a real problem now as so many vehicles are 2+ tons.

Yano the parcel shelf? Like ontop to the boot like the lid inside it isn't atached to the boot you have to put it down yourself or if u forget u need to reach back and tap it down

Ah ok, gotcha Jonny. Makes sense.

Comanche, yeah another valid safety point (I drive one of those 2 ton ones too)..and there is not a lot of crumple zone in the back of a Panda. Food for thought.

I have one and am about to become a first time dad at 40 (have some slightlybquicker race cars though). Great car, and we've tested the pram thing - silver cross 3d fits in fine (albeit a bit tight). You'll love it - hard ride, but like driving an overexcited puppy!
