Could this Opel Manta ever look good ?

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2...

I guess if it was painted one colour like an original gold or silver, removed the bonnet bulge (if possible) and removed whatever that is on the rear bootlid. Will it ever look good ? (In an 80's kind of way ?)

Oh, and retrim the interior back to GTE spec........

I had a gold GT/J in the day and I was thinking of one of those wide arch body kits, bit wild but it was the early 90's !!

yes The teenage me from 30-odd years ago would have loved that!

I had a Vauxhall Chevette with a 2 litre Fiat Twicam on Webers that was basically a junior version of it.

It's a bit extreme but I've seen far worse.

A can of petrol and a box of matches would improve it dramatically.

I don't see a problem. 80's car has 80's bodykit. Celebrate it.

With a few changes you could make that look a lot less of a statement.

Or, lease a hatchback.

I'm not keen on the colours and a smoothed off bonnet bulge would look better but overall I don't think it's bad.

With a 500bhp engine and a single colour like this, I could live with it.

It's done reasonably well but it is down to personal taste - or lack thereof.

Loose bonnet scoop paint Perl black and alloys gold and I’d rock it TBH

Needs a 400 kit really, thats all a bit 90s "Mattig" style.

Tastes change, you get the odd refugee from a previous decade.

Yeah that looks pretty godo to me, in a very 80s sort of way. smile
