Another "what car" thread - which large 4x4?

Sorry for posting another What car thread but would really like some opinion and possibly other options to my question.
The wife and I are looking for a big 4x4 for towing duties.
We would prefer a 4x4 due to their stability when towing large trailers and weights,
and for the extra grip on offer during winter months (we live in a very rural area where roads are not gritted).
So what will be towed, a trailer and track day car (Alfa 155), but also horsebox and horses (largest horse is in excess of 900kg so need a large load lugger).
Not bothered about petrol or diesel as mileage is quite low (7-10k per annum), budget 10-15k 7 seats would be preferable but not a deal breaker. Would be looking at getting a warranty to cover any unexpected costs, so preferably under 10 years of age and under 100k miles. so I'm currently looking at the following.
Standard suspects
BMW X5
LR Range Rover or Discovery 3
Porsche Cayenne
VW Toureg
Outsiders
Toyota Amazon (very few available by the looks of it)
Nissan Pathfinder (not keen due to them being the
4x4 of choice localy).
Wife prefers the Disco or Pathfinder option due to 7 seat availability.
Any comments on the above choices would be welcome and also any other options I've not considered.
