I pass threee of these give way to oncoming traffic junctions on my way to work and notice that the majority of people give an acknowledgement as I do with a thank you gesture.

I somethings this is odd, as it is actually a traffic command, but I also think it's in acknowledgement that you weren't a tt and decided that the give way isn't meant for you, causing the oncoming car to slam their brakes. This tends to happen a couple of times a month usually by some late for work moron in the morning.

So do you say 'thank you' or just go through regardless as you have right of way?

I'm specifically talking about these funny little things that you find around the place.

I always thank the person who has stopped, as do most people, but a lot who don't who I imagine think it's like a traffic light, and you don't thank people for stopping at those. hehe

I object to thanking someone for obeying the law.
Hence the question. smile

The majority of people do give a thank you twice a day when I go past these give way things.

.. If I don't get a thank you of any of them (more and more the case these days) it enrages me completely.
Same here!

It's the little things that infuriate the most, a slight raise of the finger would suffice, but no, some people can't even do that can they? mad
