Honda NSX Concept GT: Time For Tea?

No wonder we've not had a production NSX yet, the Honda boys are too busy making tea...

Honda has a knack of producing great viral ads and video. We’ve all seen the ‘Cogs’ commercial and it recently wowed us with the ‘hands’ advert too. And now it’s made one specifically for our Time For Tea? slot, or so we’d like to think.

It features the NSX Concept GT racer, that fabulous bit of kit that will compete in the Japanese Super GT against the Lexus LF-CC and Nissan GT-R. Said Honda is on a rolling road, where it is then wound up to top speed a la Audi R8 V10 ad.

It slows, a few downchanges are fired in and the process starts again. Only now the Concept GT is boiling kettles. Yep, PH Time For Tea? now features a car making tea. We may have seen it all.

But it turns out there’s a genuine and practical reason for this bizarreness. In Honda’s words, it’s a demonstration of the ‘household energy business’, a ‘sucrose home energy management system Honda’s ‘HSHS (Honda Smart Home System)’ emissions movie'. Thanks for the translation Chrome. In English, HSHS is Honda’s range of ideas around domestic energy production, management and conservation.

It's aimed at providing some self-sufficiency for residents if and when natural disasters strike. Read more from Honda here, or simply sit back and marvel at another intriguing video.
