that really is depressing to here...
a long standing customer, you should really be given a phone call and offered to get your name down.

I remember when the merc sl was launched in 89, my dad had his name down and 1 year on when he enquired about when his car was actually being delivered, he was told that unless he contributed £2000 to the salesman then there was no way he was going to get the car. Given they had a 3 yr wait at that time.

how can people possibly have been on a "list" before the car was officially launched ?? - absolute bks the poster above...

I enquired about getting the new Ferrari that was due to come out (5 years ago) and was politely told that the London dealer had their long term customers and of course Celeb/ footballers that effectively can get straight to the top of the list. I thought fair enough, I haven't bought a car from you guys so cant expect to get straight to the top of the list.

Well I have to say I don't understand how it works, I am on my 8th Porsche and have bought 6 from OPC's, 3 from 1 OPC and I could not get a GT4 and I tried on the day they were released when I heard they were manual, even with a GT3 to trade against.
Don't really know what you should do I am told that LOI does not guarantee a car and that GT cars are allocated by the DP.
So not sure if you should look to buy an Alfa or an Evora 400 or take up the suggestion above.

In the meantime I have a LOI in for a GT4RS probably got more chance of winning the Euro lottery.
