Without doubt this year was the best one in the 15 I’ve been to, however………

Whilst making my way back from Arnage on Friday back towards the main car parks there was a large gathering of super soakered up types. Nothing wrong with that as frankly the water was a bloody great blessing except a group of Danes had elected to put something other than water in their guns.

Suffice to say I now have what I can only describe as something pretty close to paint sprayed over the interior and simply will not come of the seats. I didn’t really clock it at the time being rather hot and bothered an generally in need of a pint but right about now I feel as though I should have beaten the seven bells of S:censored:t out of the git.

I did notice a guy in an E Type getting really wound up after the interior of his own car got splattered particularly as it was absolutely concourse and not really the right car to pick on and I couldn’t help but feel sorry for him as he came in for a real load of verbal for daring to suggest that it was a bit out of order. General lack of respect for a really nice bit of kit in my opinion.

So then, super soakers yes or no? Or should I go on a one man war with Denmark?

Having now administered a bucket and sponge to the post Le Mans 993 it seems that under all the dust and other detritus whatever this substance was has also attached itself to the rear wheel arch as well.

I really can not work out what it is as it was shot out of a super soaker but has stuck like turd to a blanket and is certainly paint like in the way it has stuck on.

So all in all I’m pretty angry about it as I think to remove it will also remove the lacquer etc. As for the interior most of damage is on the passenger seat back and the panel on the passenger door which although tedious could be sorted out by somebody like southbound trimmers

Dazren, I don’t know if you know my old mucker over on the Porsche forum '993 RSR' but when it comes to laying my hands on some bricks I’m sure he would testify, a 100,000 by tomorrow could be done Now all we need is a Hercules to drop them on bloody Denmark

So all in all although not hugely noticeable I think I could be looking at £500 to get her back to how she was before that berk decided to have a go.

Asides from the damage done to my own car there was another incident which got under my skin over the weekend as well, once again the Super Soakers were up their tricks

Once again on the way out we had been stuck for over an hour in the traffic and with the temperatures as ‘hot as a snakes arse in a wagon rut’ a group of British teens opened fire at the 993 as I wouldn’t do a burn out for them. Frankly I was keener to keep my clutch and not block the entire road when it went up in smoke, this was pretty academic as the car was so hot it was a bit of blessing and passed it off with half a grin.

At the same time on the opposite side of the road an absolutely immaculate E type purred past The same lads literally jumped on the bloke and emptied the things across the dash of the car as he wouldn’t perform a burn out form them either.

Clearly distressed he made the fatal error of getting out and remonstrated with the group and being some bit older than the group of lads it all looked a bit ugly and generally distasteful and was met with much baying from the crowd. It’s not as if it was some euro box rep mobile, it was a bloody lovely E Type

They set about shooting him in the face and generally humiliating him in front of a large group. This to me is pretty bloody pathetic and demonstrates a consummate lack of respect for the car and a bloke keen to keep his car the way he likes it

Had they appreciated what it was then clearly he wasn’t likely to nail the clutch and appreciate that Smiths instruments do not mix well with water and best kept anhydrous

Maybe a bit of rant but I really felt a bit sorry for the bloke as he was on his own and smaked to me of a bit of bully boy antics.
